I am looking for a woman Mollie (or Molly) who married Gustaf Fenske and lived in Darling, MN. They immigrated about 1880 and she must have died before 1920 since he is listed as a widower on the census that year. They had sons Albert, Gustaf Jr., Edward and daughters Elsie and Lydia. Mollie's last name is listed a bunch of different ways: Zicke, Zinke Synka, Zenke.

Gustaf (Sr.) came from Germany but some lists show Prussia.

Do you think she might be a relation of yours?

I am really having a hard time finding anything out about her life.

Thanks to Robert T and Parrish. Robert T. explained the towns in Germany as they are now known. Parrish said to go on Map Quest, and I located the town of the marriage, requested the closest churches to this town, and rcd the locations of 10 . I wrote 10 letters to these churches, and in a week , I rcd the marriage record. This record was from 1865. Now , I have someone interpreting it for me. THANK YOU.

Re: Zinke Family of Wis.

Karolyn; I don't have much on the Zinke's. My Gr. Grandmother was Caroline Wilhelmina Henrette Zinke from Hogeland, Wursterwitz, Germany. Her parents were Fredrich and Wilhelmine (nee Roloff) Zinke. Wilhelmine's obit. lists his name as Charles but I have also seen it as Carl. (The german of Charles is Carl). Wilhelmina was born in 1830 and her husband in 1827. He died in 1900 and she in 1904. They had 5 children: Herman, Julius, Fred, Caroline (Baerwald) and, I think the last one was Bertha (Witt). The family resided in the Columbus and Kendell areas.

Caroline came to Wis in 1882 with the Baerwalds having married her first cousin, Wilhelm before the trip. They had their first son in Nov. of 1882.

I have found Zinke's, Baerwald's and Roloff's in the Wursterwitz area of Germany coming from town such as Hogeland, Oldenberg, Strassburg.

If you have more information on this family I'd apppreciate a copy. I hope to find Fredrich/Carl's death record one day soon and that may give me his parents. Please contact me at: sthomsen@charter.net

Sandy

Hello board,

Do anyone knows about the Zinkes lived in Hitzdorf district of Arnswalde in Germany from early 20th century? My grandmother Margot, her twin Siegfried, and I guess two brothers (Hans and Gerhard) lived there together with my great grandfather Gustav and his wife. When WW2 ended they expelled from there and went to Ückermünde - Germany. Gustav were hold captive by Russians and probably died in captivity. Before WW2 they carried on a brickworks, the Dampfziegelei Zinke & Eckhardt.

Riccardo (Germany)

My gg grandfather was Fredrick A. Zinke (Jan 16, 1828 - June 26, 1885)who died near Lewisville, MN. His parents were William and Wilhlmina (Siebert). There is a William Zinke who died in MN Oct 6, 1874 at the age of 80. Fred may have been one of a family of 16 children of whom six grew to adulthood. Known in the family were Fred, Ernestine, Gustav, Julius, Wilhelm and Albert. Please contact me for further information. My great grandmother (Fred's daughter) was possibly born in Pulsien, Cammern, Germany. Another says Province of Pommern and Bible says Suetzlow (Sedtzlo). Prusha is probably Prussia.

I was combining Zinke and Dittbenner information. In 1898 the plat map only had initials and last names and that is all I know. On the 1914 plat there is an Arthur ( 80 acres) and an Elnora Dittbenner on the NE quarter of section 16 of Morgan township. They do not live on the land. You probably can figure out if they are descendants.
My Great Grandfather came to this country from either Germany or Prusha. His name was Julius Zinke, and his wifes name was Emelina. They had a son named Louis, my Aunt didn't write down any name for the wife, but she does state that he was married. She said they use to call him by the name of Luke. He had 9 other children in his family, and I have no birth dates. They must have come to the states by way of New York. I still have a lot of work to do with this since I am just starting out. If any of this rings true for your people, please email me and I'll be happy to give you what information I can in trade. Thanks Lois

I am searching for people related to Friedrich Wilhelm ZINKE married to Friederike Wilhelmine SCHULZ Nov. 26, 1844. Father of Bride: Johann Gottlieb Schulz, deceased owner from Neuhagen. The other info I have is that Johann's other daughter was Justine Wilhelmine Schulz DOB 1823 and married Michael Ludwig Dittberner (my GG Grandfather) in Nov. 26, 1844 in Prussia. I am researching right now mostly the German relatives but am always interested in all the others. Please email directly at DSchill155@aol.com Jeannine

Please email me at DSchill155@aol.com if you think you might be related to the above. I am researching the DITTBERNER surname and those married to them. I found the above name married to Friederike Wilhelmine SCHULZ, 18 yrs. old and DOB was 1826 from NEUHAGEN. She and Friedrich Wilhelm ZINKE from Osterfelde, 25 yrs. old married Nov. 26, 1844. Friederike Schulz was a sister to Augustine Schulz that married my direct descendent, LUDWIG MICHAEL DITTBERNER in Nov. 12, 1841 in Hinterpommern, Prussia. I don't have any other information on the ZINKE family other than this. Please email me if you think this is a relation to yours. Thanks so much!

I don't know anything more about the Frederick W. Zinke I have in the parent message. I don't think ours are related Janeen; due to the fact that if ours were the same and if you do the math with my Fred's marriage date being 1844 and if he was born in 1828 (your Fred); that would mean he married at 16 yrs. It's possible; but I don't think likely. If you find another possibility; of course let me know and if you come across any Dittbenners/Dittberners; let me know also. Thanks.
