Zion's name before coming to this country

An old family record records one of our Zion relatives as having a former name of Cron. (Spelling can also be Kron, the Americanized spelling of German and Swedish McCrone) I would like to hear opinions on this. Could this be the name the Zion family had before coming to this country?
