I have a copy of Nicholas Zoph's marriage license to his 2nd wife Mrs. Ann McIntyre. On it it lists his father as Adam Zoph and his mother as Sharlet Stroup.Maybe this will be of some help. I'm still looking for what happened to his 1st wife Malinda Elizabeth Short. One of their children was my grandfather (George Zoph) never met him because of an early death. If anyone has any information on his 1st wife I would appreciate hearing from you.. Thanks

As a descendant of Nicholas and Francis, I am interested to find the village of origin of both Nicholas and Francis; all I can find is "Baden". You are the first hint I have as to their ancestors. What do you know?

I just came acrossed this site and I know it's old but had to jump in. I was trying to find out if Rolland Zopf was still alive. I seen Judy which I'm assuming is my (step aunt) and her daughter Heidis' name in here. (which Rolland was both our grandfathers!)
Were you looking for your aunt Lucille that was married to Donald Zopf? And is Rol still alive?

I have both Zopf and Frischi names in my family. Zopf family were originally from Herrenzimmern Germany and Fritshci family originally from Donaueschingen Germany. Both families settled in Kakasd Hungary late 1600's early 1700's. Please contact for further details if you feel there is a connection/

I have info on the Zopf family who moved to marengo, Iowa. Peter & Ernestine (Kniehl) both from Germany. They had many children: Louise, Karl, John, William, Anna, ernestine, Christine, Caroline, Wilhelm, Caroline Lissette, Peter, Susannna, George, Ernestine Emelia, and Emelia Louise.The first two children were born in Germany the other in Iowa.

Sorry I could not help you. Have no knowledge of a Judy or Roland. I do have the Zopfs from 1786 thru 1886 that pertain to my line, however. If you would like to discuss this further don't hesitate to contact me. Good luck in your search.

PS. what ages are we talking about, as I no information on more recent families with the Zopf name? Could be, there is a connection going back to my own family, originally from Bavaria. I guess the origin would have a lot to do with it.

It appears we have a direct connection! I am a direct ancestor of Adam and Catherine ZOPF. They had a daughter named Lucille who, near as I can tell, was born in 1893 in Quincy Illinois and then some time after 1914 moved to Los Angeles, CA.

I don't have any records after that. But I do have a lot prior to that.

I read your question on the message board. My mothers parents, Adam and Catherine Zopf, were either from Germany or were children of parents from Germany. My Mother's name was Lucille Zopf. She passed in 1962 at the age of 74. Her family settled from Germany to Quincy, Illinois. I have been there early sixties and visited Quincy graveyard. I have ancestors that originate in Germany but I can't find out exactly where. I know that my ancestors were born in Bavaria but don't have any information to narrow down the search further.
My family immigrated to Quincy, Illinois sometime between the birth of the children around 1820 and the time they bought land in 1839. Most of them stayed around Quincy for many years. Altough
I have found some connections to Missouri.

I'm from Sennfeld (near adelsheim, Badenia, Germany) and if you're interrested I can ask my grandma or the historical working group in my home village for help.
Nowadays Kniehl is still a family name in Sennfeld.

Where is your family from? I have many ZOPF surnames in Illinois and in other nearby states, MO, OH, MN and even CA.

I don't have a Roland but I have names all the way back to 1835 in the US. Perhaps one of my ancestors moved away and started your family.

If you can give more information about your ancestors perhaps I can discover a link.

There are a lot of ZOPF's living in Germany to this day. But I have seen records that indicate we came from Germany and Austria.

Is there anyone on this list that has ZOPF surnames in Wisconsin?

I have lost track of an ancestor named Adam ZOPF. He was last living in Cudahy, Milwaukee County, WI. in 1955. I beleive that he died in 1973. He had a daughter named Gloria May ZOPF.
