Looking for data on Civil War veterans named
Zorger who served with the 87th Pennsylvania
Volunteer Infantry. The unit mustered in
York in September 1861. I am writing a
history of the regiment and seek firsthand
accounts by the veterans. I am also building
a database of personal data on each soldier
and need your help in that huge task.

NOTE: William F. Zorger served in Company A; the
all others served in Company B.

George M. Zorger (b. Aug 10, 1842; d. Dec 20, 1864, in
the prison stockade at Florence, South Carolina) was
a farmer from Goldsboro, York County.

Isaac U. Zorger (d. Mar 23, 1898)

Peter Frysinger Zorger (b. Apr 16, 1846; d. Feb 11, 1897)
was from Newberry Township, York County and was
captured the day he was to return home from the
army and imprisoned for five months. He married Anna
Catherine Hurd. [courtsey Hugh Marian Zorger]

William F. Zorger (b. 1842/43) was a machinist from
York who was shot in the hip at the batter of
Monocacy.

William H. Zorger was wounded at the battle of
Payne's Farm.
