Omar, my name is jose marquez zubiate borned -1951 in Big Spring, Texas. I've traced (1868) my grandfather to Ojinaga Chihuahua, Mexico. At that time, it was ez to cross to USA, so my side of Miguel and Maria de Jesus (nicnam-Jesusita)Zubiate settled in Presidio,Texas. My uncles stayed in that area and in west tx area but their offspring some moved to El Paso.
There are many Zubiates out there and yes some are related.
Email some info on your side and see if we make a match.
I believe that your father and I are half-brothers. I've heard of Lalo and Mike' but never got to know them. By the time I was old enough "to ask question", your dad was in SAntonio. My regards to your aunt Angie. Yes, your grand-father was a player, personally "a bad one", not caring for his offspring. Please share with me what your father remembers of Eladio....> have him tell you about the yellow bus...and Zubiate's Cafe-(cantina) a hot spot/joint known as "La Calle Cuatro" (4th street).

Let's work together to trace our roots, at least to the mid 1850's back to Chi-wa-wa (mispelled).

Well my father's name is Gilberto Zubiate born on September 17th 1961. His mother name was Consuelo Castro and his Father's Solomon Zubiate (1937- Dec 30 1978). They lived in Juarez Mexico and in 1978 my father and some of his siblings migrated to El Paso Texas, New Mexico, Phoenix Arizona, And California which is where most of them ended up. Some stayed in other places but i would love to hear about where the last name originally comes from. The farthest name i know right now is Maximiliano Zubiate who was my father's father's father or my great grand dad.

Jorge Zubiate

Family Tree

Let me introduce myself to you...
My name is Timothy G. Zubiate I live in San Antonio, TX. For about 26yrs since my father was in the military I got to travel at a young age. I went to school here in 1983 and 1984. And then I went to 1year of collage here in San Antonio and then I started to work at USAA. I worked at USAA for 13yrs. in 2001 USAA had a lay off of 13 hundred employee and yes I was one of them employee but I had received a great packaged... So back in 2001- 2002 I had a bad accident wasn't able to go back to work I am disable now with a very bad back... So I started to do my Family Tree, I have been gathering information on my Families Surnames Zubiate (my Father's name) and Ramirez (my Mother's name). I am currently working on the Zubiate branch of the family, but they are time when I need a break because I come up with so many dead ends so I move to Ramirez and there are so many out there but not the one's I need. If I can get any new leads on my research that would bring our families together. That would be so astonishing, if I have a place for you and your family... I have over 300 hundred individuals on my tree so I would appreciate anyone taking the time to assist me in placing any information that could tie our families together. If you would like, I would be happy to share some information with you on what I have already collected for these surnames...

Warm regards,

Timothy G. Zubiate
