My father told me that his great grandfather (I believe his name was John) was one of five brothers that came to the US from Sicily in the early 1900's. His original last name was Zuccaro, however, US customs gave my ancester a new last name: Sugar. John Sugar eventually settled in Sacramento, California. He had a son, Paul. Paul Sugar had a son, Salvatore Sugar. Salvatore had five children, Phillip (died in childhood), Salvadore (my father), Virginia, John and Louis (died in WWII). Later, my father changed his last name back to Zuccaro, the correct spelling.
