My great-grandfather (through marriage), Jozef Zuffa, came to the United States and eventually settled in Kenosha, Wisconsin. He met and married Hermina Grebac (also from modern-day Slovakia) there and they had several children. He was born in Zemianska (Zemanska) Dedina, Slovakia - a Yeoman Village that is currently a part of Nizna in Slovakia. It is located in the lower Tatry Mountains and the Zuffa surname is still alive and going strong there today - and it has been since the 15th century. If you're doing research on this surname, please feel free to contact me for we're likely looking in the same areas & I may be able to help you out (and vice versa)!
