I am a great-grandson of Harm Zuiderveen. His youngest son George (Nicknamed Shorty after his uncle who moved to Denver) is my grandfather, and he was from Falmouth, Michigan. My father is his oldest, Hubert Zuiderveen. I am the oldest of 8, after me are John Zuiderveen, Donald Zuiderveen, Joan Meekhof, Carol Lambert, Greg Zuiderveen, and Mark and Marsha, twins who passed shortly after birth.

Siblings to my father are Larry, Jerry, Joyce Potter, and Nancy Koetje.

I married a Zuiderveen in 1993. His family lives in Holland and Zeeland Michigan.

George (Shorty) Zuiderveen was my grandfather. I believe that most of the Zuiderveens that came to the USA settled in Kalamazoo, Michigan. A group remained in Kalamazoo, a group moved to Missaukee County, Michigan, and George moved to Denver, Colorado with his wife Mary Maas for her health. I never met Mary. She died in Denver after several years with TB. George and Mary had three children: Jean, Lawrence, and Gary. Lawrence (Larry) was my father, and he died in January, 1999. Gary died in 1964 or 1965, and Jean (almost 90) lives in Holland, Michigan. My mother Louise is 83, and lives in Denver, Colorado.

Harm Zuiderveen born in Oostwold, 1872,oct.22. (dead.1947 in Michigan) and his wife Elizabeth de Vries, born 1874,july 11.
(dead 1958 in Michigan) they left Holland in 1903 and moved to Kalamazo, Michigan. with their three children. Gerhard (Gerrit?) born in 1896, febr. 24. probably dead april 1971 in Michigan. Udo: born in 1898, nov.11 and Jantje(Jeanne) born in 1901, march 6.

Sjoert(George) Zuiderveen 1880-1964. born in Oostwold, left
Holland in 1904. Came back on dec.1909 and left .for the second time in 1910. febr.18. He married probably in Kalamazo with Mary Maas. (1885-1930) For as far we know, they became three children. Laurus(Lawrence)married with Louise Ibershof. Jantje(Jeanne) married with Bernard Koops. and Gerhard(Gary) married with Eunice de Boer.
