To all the Zulauf researchers, a Hessian soldier by the
name of Johannes Zulauf, born in 1753 served with the
Hesse-Kassel Regt. v. Knyphausen during the American
Revolution. He was captured by Americans in Sep.1779,
and was kept a prisoner at Reading, PA. to pretty well
the end of the revolution. He married in Berks County, PA
and remained there. His descendants today go by
the name SULOFF and/or SOULOFF. There are mailing
lists with those surnames.
This just for your information, I am not a descendant.
John Merz, Hessian soldier researcher.
