Zurich and it's many spellings.

I did quite a lot of research several years ago and turned up a lot of information on Zurich's, but not my particular branch. The majority of the NJ Zurich's are decended from the same family. The original spelling of their name was Zuric with an accent on the "c". The "h" was added at immigration to retain the "ch" sound which the accent denotes in Croation. Ironic, since most people see Zurich and pronounce it with the "k" sound due to the association with the city of Zurich. These Zurich's came from the small island of Olib which is off the coast of what is now Croatia. I never found any definitive connection to them, but I would love to be related, they were lovely people. I spoke to William Sr. from Toms River (I believe he has since passed away)as well as Phil's wife (Phil was not well at the time, prior to his death). I spoke to a number of others at that time and have the notes buried somewhere on my son's computer. I'll try to dig up some of that old info and share if anyone is interested. The closest I came to finding a direct link to my family was while speaking to a woman named Stephanie Zurich in NY. Her husband's name was Michael Zurich and his past family history was also shrouded in mystery. They also shared some of the attributes of my Zurich family. Unfortunately, Stephanie did not know the history of the family and Michael was hospitalized and subsequently passed away, so I was never able to obtain any info from him. If anyone has info on this branch, I'd appreciate it. In my research, I also spoke to a woman whose name is Zurich but it had been changed from Zuvich upon arrival in this country. It doesn't make the job any easier, does it?
