Family records indicate the Cherokee ancestor's
name was Millie Noble whose family members
are buried in Shiloh Cemetary in Alabama. She
married Abram LaRue. Their daughter Elizabeth
Perelee LaRue was my grandfather's paternal
grandmother. Elizabeth and her husband Wm.
Jaspar Thrasher had 11 children, one named
Nancy. We don't have much info on her.
Apparently the Nobels and LaRues came to Alabama
from the Carolinas and were married in Ala.
Elizabeth Perelee and her husband were
married in Ala. on 3/19/1873.
Did you know there's a Thrasher Reunion
each year in N.Ala. organized by Fayra
Thrasher? Also, did you know that Atlanta
Gerogia was orginally called Thrasherville.
There is a marker to that effect at the
Federal Reserve Bank in Atlanta which tells
how John Thrasher put in the winning bid on
a project to build the Monroe embankment
used to enable railroads to be built in the
area. In 1842, Thrasherville became known
as Marshallville and the later, Atlanta.
If you have any information concerning the
Nobel family connection, I would be eager
to have it. Thanks for your input. I'll
pass along anything that comes up in my search.
