Dr. J. H. LEPPER of First Street, Mason City,Iowa Cerro Gordo County, IA in 1934 was searching for Revolutionary War soldier Nicholas WALRATH from New York state. I am also searching for Nicholas WALRATH military records. Would like to hear from any LEPPER descendants who may have Dr. Lepper's genealogy files. My Walrath line went from Oswego, NY area to Herkimer County, NY in 1800's. Anxious to share info.

My gg-grandfather was Nicholas Walrath and I have it recorded that he was born Sept 1, 1810 in NY. For years people have told me these are the same person. Please contact me if you are a descendant of either Nicholas. Bill Walrath - vre3132@aol.com

Hello Bill,
I believe I am also the GreatGreat Grandaughter of Nicholas Walrath DOB 1810 (wife - Elsie Graves. Marthn Luther Walrath was my Great Grandfather and George Francis was my Grandfather. My father was Ray Everett Walrath, Son of George and Eva Walrath.

I have been unable to find anything reguarding George's life. I know that his wife (eva) died quite young and before him. I have a photo of their grave site. In the 1930 census, George's mother Arminta) was caring for his young children but where was he? Arminta was elderly and I am sure the children were sent somewhere . . . but where? I am unable to find anything. I also have a copy of Eva's Death Certificate. I was told she died of TB but that does not seem to be true. She died from complications of a miscarriage. Please help if you can!

Sincerely,

Joyce Walrath j236@aol.com
