Ivy BUCK born 1802 in Nassau NY. Came to Whiteside County Illinois in 1830's with his brother, Duty Buck. He died in Whiteside County in 1875.

Jeremiah BUCK born 1799 (brother of Ivy and Duty). His daughter Deloria was born in Ellicottville NY in 1834. She later married Joseph B. Ostrander in 1852, and they moved to Marengo, McHenry County, Illinois.

Perhaps your Ephraim is sibling to ancestory of these three BUCK brothers?

Terry........I have, since my posting in January,, learned that Ephraim's mother and father were Joel and Huldah Buck. They moved from New Milford, CT to Plattsburgh, NY. shortly after Ephraim's birth in 1792. I really appreciate your input but at the moment don't see a connection with our families.

I have many notes on Ephriam Buck's family. Ephriam, born in New Milford, Litchfield County, CT, son of Joel and Hulda (Bostwick) Buck. I believe he raised my Great Grandfather, Seth Phinney Huntington after him mother Elmira Ann Buck died around 1831. Ephriam went to Aurora, IL with 6 boys. But he had only 5 boys of his own at the time and I believe the 6th was Seth, who married Angeline Kelsey in Cuba Township, IL in 1850. I have pictures of some of the property they owned in Aurora and at least one of the houses may have been built by the Bucks. They were house builders in Plattsburgh, NY and in Aurora, IL. Contact me for more and specific information. I want to know who are Elmira's real parents. Her mother's mother was a Phinney.

Hi Dorothy,
I don't think this will help much, however, I have a william randolph in my family. When his wife applied for a government pension she listed EPRHAIM BUCK as a witness. Her name was Mary Ann (Stanley) Randolph. When I did some checking on census, the 1880 census in Upper Alloways Creek, NJ showed my William's father Charles, living with his sister Elenor Buck. I'm wondering if Elenor might have been Ephraims widow or a widow of a relation of his. Do you have an Elenor (Randolph) Buck in your family tree?

I have an ancestor, Emily Jane (BUCK) FULLER in McHenry, Marengo, Illinois. She was adopted by an uncle, Gideon L. BUCK; his parents were Ebenezer and Jane (Cusick) BUCK of New York.

The Buck's relocated to Marengo, Illinois where Emily married Walter Asa FULLER in Woodstock, Illinois. They started a family in Marengo before relocating to Minnesota in 1883.

I can provide further details on this history should it be needed.

I read your post from 2003/4. I hope this finds it's way to you. I am interested in Emily Jane Buck who was adopted by her uncle Gideon. I am descended from Henry G. Buck, Gideons' brother. Looking forward to exchanging information

Deloria Amelia Buck m Joseph Brainard Ostrander in McHenry County Illinois. They moved to Chillicothe Missouri.

Deloria had a cousin in Whiteside County Illinois, Ermina Buck. Ermina Buck m the brother of Joseph Ostrander--Daniel Newcomb Ostrander. They moved to Colorado in 1860's.

Two brothers, Duty Buck and Ivy Buck, settled in Whiteside County in 1840's.

I wonder if Duty shared an ancestor with Gideon?
