I am searching for more information about John Warmath, born 1748 in
Franklin County, NC., married Willie House in 1767, died 1816 and is
buried in Franklin County, NC.

I would like to know names of parents, what country they came from,
etc.

I am also interested in any information about Thomas Warmath, son of
John and Willie. He was born 1775 in North Carolina, married Mary
"Polly" Wooten June 10, 1797 in Franklin, NC. He died in 1853 in
Davidson County, Tn.

Thomas' grandson was named Micajah, born 1827.)

Thanks, Jo Ann

Hello,
I don't know if this will help any, but my great, great, grandmother was Pollie Wooten. She was born about 1780/1790. She was from Elbert Co, Ga. She married John Clark Edwards (1780 or 1783) . The names are so close only 100 years later, but they may be related.

hopefullly i am not too late to reach you Chris, I have some information on the line of Thomas Warmath b. 1775, down several genrations, he was my 6th times great grand father, recently discovered actually. John Warmath seems to be scarce in my records though. I suspect this is because I found him on the 1850 mortality schedule for Nashville, Davidson County, TN. having contracted Cholora during the epedimic of the late 1840s there. From the evidence I have found, I am confident that he IS the brother of Thomas Warmath 1775 and this cooberates some of the information I have seen about their origins on some of the online boards and family tree sites I have querried. Their father is supposed to be John Henry Warmath (Warmouth) of S.C. who is recorded by most researchers as marrying Willy House and having left a will that was proved in 1816 in Franklin county, NC. I havent seen the will myself though, I have some scanty notes that say some researchers have thier families earlier origins as having been in England and coming over to Virginia, specifically citing birth and christening records which are indexed at the LLDS familysearch center for Northfarnham parrish, Richmond, Va. I havent had much of a chance to look into their background furhter because I have been tracing from Thomas (1775) forward. I am guessing that John either did not come to TN with Thomas or came after 1840 as he is not listed as a head of household on any of the Davidson county, TN. census at any time. I am going to be leaving a detailed note of my findings for Thomas Warmath on the rootsweb family tree website for the researchers of that collaborative to review as well, another fairly acurate resource i have found online which i have cited on my own tree is : http://www.wachdorfconnect.com/thomas_warmath.htm I did not know that John Warmath had any children, so hopefully this will help us both make connections to the generations before them.

is also informative.

surnames linked to Thomas Warmath are: Shumate, McKinley, Baker, Hamilton, Fly, Rains, McFaddin, Wooten.

hey, dont know if your still about, but have found Thomas's will and the will of his father Johnathan warmath (warmouth) of franklin, ky. it appears that john is NOT his brother, but another child. he has an elder brother named john mentioned in the will, but the john I found was born 20 years after thomas, in granville, now franklin, nc. makes more sense why thomas had control of his estate when he died and no heirs. ive been starting at the 1840 census for a while now trying to figure out why there is another adult male in the home, that must be john died 1849, only logical explanation. I have a ton more documentation from thomas down on my website if you want to compare notes, shoot me an email at kissamedeadly@yahoo.com and ill send you an open link. make sure and put thomas warmath etal or something to that effect in the subject so i dont dump it in my spam filters!
