Searching for any Anzalduas in Mexico or the U.S. to add to my data base. My family came from Reynosa, Mx. to Victoria, Tx ca 1850. I hope my info will serve as a home base for anyone looking for their Anzaldua family. Especialy looking for Rafael Anzaldua who marr. Juana Josefa De La Garza in late 1790's.

From what I know of about my family, my father is Hector Anzaldua, who's father is Israel Anzaldua. His parents were Nisoforo and Emilia Anzaldua, who, according to my father, came from Spain. I am not sure when they did so. I also know that they settled in the southern part of Texas, close to Reynosa. Our familiy lived in McAllen, Texas, there are some Anzaldua's there; my uncle and brothers and sister, possibly others. I know that there are Anzalduas in Florida and California. There is a woman named Gloria Anzaldua who is a popular author. I do not know much else about the Anzaldua family. I would like to learn more because I am sure that the Anzaldua name has an enriching history that should be known.

Hi Jessica. Necefaro Anzaldua (m)12 Jun 1911 in Brownsville, Tx. This you probably already know. Necefaro's parents were Bernadino Anzaldua Eugenia Ramirez who (m) 17 Jul 1891 Cameron Co., Tx. Several reliable sources tell me that the Anzaldua's came from Spain...Basque country (northern Spain...the unconquered people! There were Anzalduas in Mexico as early as late 1500's. I am presently researching to find out exactly where they came from when. I am a determined woman!! Would you have any info on the descendants of Necefaro? I may have some but I know I don't have anything on your father up to date. Will you share?
please reply on this forum for my E-Mail which is :margarite.jenkins@worldnet.att.net

My Dad was born about 1885 in Matamoros, MX.
At least that is what I was told. His family came from spain to Mexico, I don't know what year. He was half french and half spanish. I understand the name is Basque. but French Basque, originating from when the Basque were a colony of their own in between France and Spain. He did not have a birth certificate that I am aware of. He had I believe two brothers and one sister. They lived in Texas around the early fifties.

Dear Margarite,

I got your e-mail address from Jac Mary Horton after I received some
correspondence from them regarding the Cavazos surname.

I told them that my husband's grandmother was born near Donna on what
was called La Blanca Rancho. Her name was San Juanita Munoz
Her parents were Dionicio Munoz and Francisca Flores, married on
1/12/1889. Dionicio's parents were Jesus Ramon Munoz (1830?-1921) and
Preciliana Cavazos (1833?-?). (Their siblings married each other also -
Petra Cavazos Capt. Manuel Munoz).
Preciliana's parents were Salvador Cavazos (1811-6/14/1886) and San
Juana Anzaldua (1813-5/12/1887). They are buried in a brick crypt in a
small obscure cemetary off the military road just outside of Donna, TX
in the middle of a field.

We think Salvador's parents were Ignacio Cavazos Gertrudis Gallegos
(married on 8/25/1803).

The Hortons said that you are researching the Anzaldua line in the Rio
Grande Valley.

We are also looking for the famiy of Francisca Flores (1861-1943) .
Her parents were Santiago Flores Garza (1840?-) and Secundina Chacon
(1840-?). Any information that you could give us would be very much
appreciated. I am going to look in some census records tomorrow from
Hidalgo Cameron County. If you would like me to look for anything for
you, just drop me a line tonight.

Thanks!!
