Nichoele,
I am a decendant of the Group of Nine Arseneaus that settled in Beaverville, Iroquois County, Illinois. A good source of information would be either the KKK Public Library or the Iroquois County Genealogical Society. My grandmother, who was an Arseneau, passed away on 4/9/99 in Kentucky. I have been looking into my Arseneau lineage for awile. There is also a microfilm available from the Mormons or at the Iroquois County Gen. Society that list Arseneau's back until the 1640's in Canada. There are alot of us out there. I'm not sure on your lineage though. I don't know of a link between the Arseneau's of Beaverville and the Arseneaus of Bourbonnais, but there must be one. Good luck with your search.

Well as you can see I'm an Arseneau, originally from Bathurst New Brunswick Canada, now residing outside Toronto Ontario, I have an oncle who's been doing some searching of our family tree, he's gone back as far as 183? or somewhere around there, the last name we have is Urbain Arseneau, we know he was married in the province of Quebec. If he shows up somewhere in your family tree I would be really interested! Thanks.

Hi,

We have Arseneau's here in Syracuse, New York. Originally from Nova Scotia, I think. I have an aunt who is doing more research. Let me know if there are any of you from around the New York or Eastern Canada areas.

I have info of Beaverville, Ill Arseneau's going all the way back to first Arseneau arriving in Canada, 1686. A geneologist did the research in 1930's and it is on file with Geneaological Society in Salt Lake, Utah (Mormon Church). Most has been translated to English. Microfilm 1421973, third section of film.

To Gemma,
Thanks for your information on Arseneau genealogy. If there's any information you could send me it would be appreciated. My Aunt has done some research, but it is incomplete. Thanks, Gary arseneau@lcc.net

I found a GEDCOM file on Ancestry.com that has my family history. I am not sure who submitted it but go to that web site and type in Gemma Arseneau to get the file. This is the same information that I have on hardcopy. It comes up on a Family Tree Maker File.
