What Braune(s) and where were they? My ggrandfather was Andreas Christian Braune. He m. Sophia Elizabeth Borgfeld. Their children were Christian, Emma, Minna, Carl, August, Anna, Ida, Freda, William, Hulda and Otto. They came from Altenweddingen Prussia, by boat and landed in Galveston, TX and they lived in the New Braunfels, Seguin, San Marcos, TX area.

Looking for Braune ancestors in Poland or former Prussia in 1860-1910. My Grand Grand father Konstanty was born abt. 1870 in Lowicz (Prussia then). Till then I got in touch with Brad Braune TX, US. - grand grand son of Andreas Christian Braune and Sophie Elizabeth Bergfeld. They left from Altenweddinggen Preussen, province Sachsen, district of Magdeburg, Knees Wanzleben, Deutschland in 1881 to US.

If you know anything abt. your European connections - mail me please.

Greetings

Donald,

I, too, am a Braune. My Great-grandmother, Augusta Braune, was married to Heinrich Lippe. They were married in Magdeburg, Germany. They immigrated to the U.S. through Galveston with their children, Hermine, Alma, and Walter (my grandfather) in 1896. They went to New Braunfels, where Augusta had brothers, and settled in Lockhart. If you have any information on your ancestors I'd appreciate anything you can share. Thanks!
