Would like to hear from any Britzius or related family to Britzius. This is a very elusive family, so hope to hear from a Britzius or Brizius. Have a little information, but lots of gaps. Anything will help. Thanks in advance.

Hello,

My family is from Johann Britzius of Bavaria, Germany as I found out. I hope to find more too. I have found quite a few from the internet, would love to talk to you about the name, and see what we can come up with.

Darlene,
As I have several Johann Britzius names in my records, it would help to pinpoint if you could provide a spouse's name, any dates, or siblings to your Johann Britzius. I have one, Johann Nickel Britzius, b. 2-2-1764, married to Maria Juliana Pontius on 1-24-1792, son of Jacob Nickel Britzius. He had twin brothers, Johann Jakob Britzius, b. 2-22-1766, and, Johann Daniel Britzius, b. 2-22-1766 d. 1-29-1802. There is also a Johan Karl Britzius, b. 1-17-1791 d. 1867 who married Anna Maria Sophia Hauth on 1-12-1813. This Johann was a brother to our Karl Ludwig Britzius. They were sons of George Jacob Britzius, who was a brother to the other three Johanns I just mentioned.

Any information you can provide into your line may help me make the connection to some of the names I have. I will be glad to share what other information I have. Mostly I have the lineage of Karl Ludwig and some of his decendents.

While visiting the cemeteries in Indiana,we took pictures of all the Brizius and Britzius tombstones we could find. We are sure they are all related, just have to find out how.

I look forward to your reply.

PS any deafness in the Brizius family? Reason Im asking is because we have three, and I have located one more that may be a possible related in California. The three deaf are my father, Harry LeRoy Jr, my mother and myself. My mother and I are hard of hearing, we speak very well, while my father is not able to talk at all. Curious to know if theres anymore as we are finding its hereditary on my father's side, has alot of cousins that have hearing problem but not as severe as ours. Thanks for reading....

Interesting to find this. So it means your great grandmother is the 5th child of this second marriage, while my grandfather, Harry L. Britzius, Sr., was the 9th. From my research in this John/Johann's line...apparently my father, Harry L. Britzius, Jr., stated that his father, Harry L. Britzius Sr who is my grandfather...had 11 children...but research shows because of his first marriage he had four from that marriage, but another family tree I located in Ancestry.com shows he has 7 children from first marriage. Do you have the correct information on this? (I hope I am clear on this...smile)
