Hi everyone. I am Albion's Historian (NOT RELATED). Albion, Michigan, Calhoun County. Here in our Riverside Cemetery there is buried a Brusie family (note spelling), who came here from New York. Abram Brusie was from Victor, NY. He died Sept 8, 1885 at age 57 years, 3 months, 22 days. His wife was Sarah J. Harry A. Brusie their son died Jan 22, 1877. Homer J. Brusie was Albion's fire chief 1900-1902 and served on the City Council. He was born i North Branch, Michigan and came to Albion in 1882. Born July 22, 1861, died Dec 1, 1940. He was the son of Wilmot (born in NY) and Emma Trenfield (Born in England) Brusie. He married his first wife Viola Aldrich (1850-1917) in 1904. He married his second wife Lena Overy on Sept 26, 1918. That is a relation to my husband this what i know an if you have anything else i would apperciate you sending it to me His parents were Stephen and Phoebe They came to american from the European region of northeastern France. Stephen was born 1808-1872
Wilmot was there second son he was born in New York Northeastern part in 1835 wilmon Married Emma Ann Nichols She was born in England in 1839 Came to america w/ parents George and Sarah Trenfiled in 1850 at age 11. Wilmot and Emma came to North Branch Michigan in 1858 and brought section 12 120 acres farm. Fire destored the land in 1871 and 1881 They grew herbs and natural remedie and Used them to treat the indians they had seven children 1st Born Homer Douglas 1861-1943 married Married no children lived in Albion>>2nd born Susie 1863-1943 Married robert Cargill and had one child Edith and resided in Marlette.>> 3rd born Sarah Ann Zimbroke Frances 1867-1947 Married James Green and had 5 children russel, Carl, Marjorie, Bruce and Elden they lived in brown City 4th born>> William Ludington 1871-1951 Married Bertha Roberts and had 2 Children Donald and Geraldine lived in DetriotOn leaving north branch Wm Ludington changed his name spelling to Brasie George Wilmont 1875-1921 Married maris. These brusies are buried here in ALbion" Abram (from Victor, NY) Sep 8, 1885, Harry A. (son of Abram & Sarah J. ) died Jan 22, 1877, Homer J. and Viola. His 2nd wife Lena Overy is not listed under Brusie, proably buried under another name. Homer was Albion fire chief 1900 1902, and Coity Council man. Born i North Branch, Mich, to Albion in 1882. Viola (Aldrich) 1850-1917 was first married to ____Corey, then marrie dHomer Brusie in May 24, 1904. Hope this helps. Check our our Albion site at www.albionmich.com

Hey Steve i think i wrote to you before. I have some more on the brusie family. Don't know if it's your or not. I have informaiton on Homer, susie,Sarah Ann Zimbroke Frances, william Ludington,george wilmot,Mabel,David walton. and also Emma ann (nichols) Brusie and wilmot brusie. I am trying to research my Brusie family.
My grandfather is Howard Max Brusie born in NY.
His grandfather was Cornelius Brusie buried in Bath,NY.

These are the Brusie I have in New York ..Lawrence Born Jan 18,1833 Willmot Bethune Sept 16,1835, David Morgan jan 22,1836, William Henry may 27,1838, Adam Johnson 5-16-1840, Stephen 1-17-1843, there parents were Stephen and Phoebe. They lived in Ancram Columbia county. Wilmot was my husbands Great Great grandfather.But you may try phyllis kinzie at brizzee@mediaone.net She has some stuff on cornelius she maybe able to help. Thanks for the info! I will check with my grandfather to see if he recognizes any of those names. A few a weeks ago He got a letter from Phylis Brizzee, too!

Hi Mary, I believe that my grandfather was george wilmont brusie. i know that the family lived in michigan and that he died sometime around 1915. he had changed the spelling to brazee before that. he had two sons, wilmont and marcel. any info that you have would be appreciated. thanks
