I would like any information on the Canoyer's I can trace back to an Alexander Canoyer in Iowa who married Susan Stewart back in the late 1800's before that is unknown. There could be many spellings i.e. Kwanayer, Kwanoyer, and Conoyer

Hello Nicole, I've been looking for Canoyers too. I had a ggrandmother Emma Bell Canoyer and her mother was Susan, her father was David. My Stewarts were living in Fremont County, Iowa from 1850. They also married Gordons. Tell me a little about yours.

Thanks, Penny

I just figured out that Susan Stewart was the daughter of Zadok Stewart and Mary Poff, my direct ancestors, and that she was born in Delaware County, Indiana in 1834. Please reply for more sharing.

Thanks, Penny Stewart

Hello Harriet, Got your message. I'm at penkap1@home.com. Since I posted my last message, I found a marriage record for Emma B. Kenoyer, a death record for her father, David and a marriage record for David to Susan Pfoutz. Making progress and would love to hear from you. Penny

I know that Susan Stewart's parents were zadok and Mary poff and Susan married Alexander Canoyer and had like 7 or 8 children of which one of them was John Canoyer (my Great Grandfather) who had Harold Canoyer (grandfather) who had John Canoyer II (father). I know there are still Canoyer's living in Iowa as I have met them a couple of years ago. Decendents from Charles Canoyer. I have the whole tree just not on a downloadable format.

Hi Nicole! I was just visiting Iowa and Nebraska looking for Canoyers and found a few. My Gggggrandfather was Zadok Stewart who had William who had Robert Zadok who had Clarence who had Robert(my father). I think that's the right amount of greats. Anyway, Robert Zadok married Emma Belle Canoyer but the marriage record I found for her spells her name, Kenoyer. Her first marriage was to A.J. Gordon in. I found an obituary record for her father, David who died 1909 in Fremont County, Iowa. I found his marriage record to Susan Pfoutz in Cass County, Indiana in 1848. I would love to share charts with you. Do you mind doing it by snail mail?
