Does anyone know whether Henry CRESS of Round Hill, Nova Scotia married Annie COOPER or HOOPER? He was the father of William Avard Cress, born in 1842. Also looking for data on his father Henry CRESS, who married Kathryn CUPP and any other ancestry. I have lots on his descendants & am willing to share.

Charlotte Cress was on my G Granddad's marriage record as his mother. Was said that he was born in KS, 1869. I can find no info on her to connect her to any Cress family. Have you ever come accross that name. Please mail me harlen@ipa.net

Hi! My gg-grandmother was an Elizabeth Cress who was born in PA. She had a brother named Samuel. I do not know the names of his children, but I do have some Cress information that I would be happy to share.

Yes I would love to have any info on the Cress family from PA, since I've never found any from that area. All the info. I have on my gg gramdmother is that her name is on g granddad's marriage record as his mother. Since he was married in Center Point, Iowa I've just allways asumed she was from that area, but the Cress families there have never heard of her. thank you so much. Harlen harlen@ipa.net

I am working on my family tree, my maiden last name was Cresse. I have found out that our roots were in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. I am having a lot of trouble, I think somewhere down the line the name was spelled either Cress or Cressey. Any info on the spelling of the last name of the person you are looking for would be great. I am hoping to find out more and if someone changed the spelling for a reason. I know my great grandfather from New Jersey was Gilbert Cresse, but before him all I am finding in both states are Cress and Cressey. I think he was the one who changed the spelling.

I realy know very little about the Cress family. I have been told that at one time the name was spelled Grass Cressey. Have you tried GenForum or LDS files? I am inerested in your line since they were from New Jersey, because my GG Grandmother Charlotte Cress's husband was from the New Jersey/Vermont area. Have you ever come across her name. Thanks, Harlen Sams, harlen@ipa.net

My g-g-grandfather was George Clifford Cress, born 25 August 1873 in Abeline, KS. His father was Joseph Porter Cress who was from Cincinatta OH. Maybe he was a cousin of your g-g grandmother, since his relatives also came from Ohio.

I doubt that's very helpful, but I haven't been able to go back any further than Joseph. He married Abigail Crary 1 January 1871 in Cincinatti.
