Have considerable info on Cruikshank [formerly Cruickshank] families who emigrated from Scotland to Nova Scotia to MN to WA and CA. Especially interested in descendants of James and John Cruikshank [Cruickshank]. If you are tracing families in these geographic areas, please contact djoyce@tc.umn.edu

Darlene, I've been trying to find information on my family but don't know if they are descended from John or not. However, my father's name was John William Cruikshank and he was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1906 (I believe) to Sydney Cruikshank and Bertha Lindsey. The family immigrated to Idaho from Nova Scotia and my grandfather also worked in the logging camps in Oregon. If you have anything that would give me a lead, I'd appreciate it or if you think there's anything I can do to help in your search. I was so glad to see an inquiry!

Hi. I called my 96 yr. old Grampa Cruikshank and asked him about your family, but unfortunately he does not know.

I am about to leave on a business trip, but when get home will try to look up my Nova Scotia contacts for you...what we both need to do is more research up there.

I can tell you that most of my Cruikshank line came from Musquodoboit Nova Scotia.

Best Wishes. Look forward to hearing from you as you find more. Darlene Cruikshank Joyce DarleneCJoyce@hotmail.com
