Searching for info on my grandfather, Timothy Danehy,
(b 2 Feb 1898, d Jul 1961), late of Arlington MA. This
is as far back as I have been able to take this portion
of my line, and I could really use the help.

Thanks
Mark Danehy

Edward,

Thanks so much for your reply. Could you
please give me a little more information with
which to contact you? From the phone number,
it looks like you are outside the US. Are you
located in Ireland (Tells me which country code
to use)?

Thanks
Mark Danehy

Dear Sir - I came across your web site message regarding the Danehy's and would love to look at your data. I am searching for information on my great-grandmother, Catherine Danehy and don't have much to go on. All I have is a copy of her marriage certificate. She married Daniel Maloney (who himself was born in Killaloe, western Ireland) in Cardiff, south Wales, in 1900. Her age was 30 at the time and her father was John Danehy, the certificate said he was deceased. I don't know where she came from, apart from the fact it must have been Ireland. I suspected it might be from the same county as Daniel, county Clare, but I have had a search done by a family history society in Ireland who came up with nothing at all. I should be most interested to hear if you have any information on the origin of the name.
Thank you for your help.

teresa : My father was john h danehy he was born in 1907 in winchester mass. his father was edward, edward was born in tralee in 1872, his father was john, i do not have any dates for the earliest john danehy. anyway my grand father edward married anne sullivan, anne mother was a hassett hence the H in my fathers name. edward & anne were married at winchester, mass in 1904. Even though they where both from tralee they apparently met after emigratting to the U. S. IF i WERE TO CONTINUE BACK I WOULD CHECH THE BIRTH & MARRIAGE RECORDS IN TRALEE IN PARTICULAR ST. JOHNS Church.
.My grandfather edward did have other children but I do not know their names for sure. GOOD LUCK ED D

Dear John - thank you so much for resending the information. My gt-grandmother (Catherine Danehy) was born in 1870 so I suppose her father, John, would have been born around 1850. I shall check out the church you mention and let you know how I go on. Many thanks for your help. Theresa
