Am from Tiffin, Ohio, as was my father.

Paternal grandfather born in Pennsylvania.

Have traced my line back to October 31, 1735
when first Daughenbaugh arrived in U.S.A.

He did not spell his name the same. One of his sons did, though, while his other son spelled the name: Taughinbaugh. Much info found in church records.

Do not have my files with me, but will soon be able to help some people in there search(es).

Ed,
My paternal great grandmother was Mary Elizabeth Daughenbaugh Harrison. She was the daughter of Peter, born in Centre County, Pennsylvania. Any line???

Peter ... Mary Elizabeth ...

Peter Daughenbaugh born 1811 (1850 age 39) died about 1880? Married: Mary Magdaline Behr. She apparently died between 1840 and 1850. Second wife: Cela Adams married: 18 March 1858.

Peter's parents were: Christian and Mary
Christian was born: 5 Dec 1775, married: about 1800, Died: 1852

Christian's Parents were: Johannes/John Dachenbach (or Dagebach) (He was a soldier in the revolutionary war). Maria Graf
Johannes/John was born 1753, married 6 June 1775, and died between 1810-20

Johannes/John's parents were Martin Dachenbach (or Dagenbach) and Margaretha.
Martin was born in 1715, married about 1740, and died 17 Nov 1794
Martin arrived in the "colonies" in Philadelphia, Oct. 30, 1738 at the age of 23.

Peter's children were:

Christopher born 1833
Francis A. born 1835
Mary E. born 1837
and possibly two other sons?
Thomas Jefferson born 12 Nov 1842
Absalom J. born either 1841 or 1845

Either Peter's brother Jacob, or Peter's Uncle Jacob is my ancestor (g.g.g. grandfather). Not enough information to determine which...

Does this help?

Ed

Which William?

Dear Ed,
Thank you. I do have information obtained at the Denver Federal Center that Peter's first wife was with another man in 1850. I have that information, if you want it.

If you have read the other messages, you will
notice my name. I was born in Lake Charles,
Louisiana in 1972. My family history has been
traced back up to the Civil War. I have a
news article that I need to dig out of the
closet and then I will post my family tree
as much as I know of it. I just stumbled into
this sight, so any info would be really
appreciated. Other than my family, I know of
one Daugh living in Phily and two living in
New Jersey. I only know this because that
is where I am stationed (Air Force)Thanks
guys

Thank you so much!. I still haven't been able
to track down that article I spoke about, but
I am still looking. I really haven't put much
effort in tracing my lineage, but I have always
wanted to. Any information is wonderful. I
also put my services to all of you. Being in
the military, I travel quite a bit, so if you
need me to look for anything, either I will
find a way to get there or I will get one of
my many connections to look for it. I wish I
would have had this info last year around this
time because I spent a month in Germany. I
tried looking up our history, but I didn't know
the name changes to look under. Thanks again.
