I am looking for any info on the Draddy's. Family rumor is they entered US through MD as endentured servants and when their debt was paid settled in NY. I believe they settled in NY, NY. John would be the one from IR. He married Mary FLYNN. I know John was buried Calvary Cemetary (mulberrry st.)11/2/1870. Mary John had at least 2 children, Nora and Catherine b;3/8/1870 d;12/30/1939. John died shortly after Catherine (Kate) was born and the girls went to orphanages. St. Dominicks and Sparkhill home. Catherine married William Donahue. Any info on any of this would be so appreciated. have info on descendants of John I will share.

hi,
my maiden name was drady, from my understanding through word of mouth is that the name drady is uncommon and most are related. my great grandfather was archibald drady and he had a brother william drady a sister isabel drady all born in halifax nova scotia.
their father's name was george drady and mother was mary. but not sure of her maiden name. I think they came to mass. in the late 1800's.

Hi,

I have to agree with you that Draddy is an unusual name. I am interested in Michael Draddy (Dreaddy/Dreddy) from Fox Harbour, Newfoundland. I think he came from Ireland but possibly could have come from the US or even the Maritimes (ie Nova Scotia).

I would like to hear more about the Draddy's. My email is tark@nb.sympatico.ca

Sincerely,

Steven Tarkowski

I have Drady connections back to late
1700's in Nova Scotia. John(1790's)
to James to David (ca 1800-1855) to
George, my great grandfather who came
to Boston late 1800's. His son William
to my father Paul all in Boston. James
used both Drady and Draddy in one document
All Drady names I have found (including
ones in Australia) go back to County Cork.
If you think there is a connection, email
me at pfdrady@neocom.net

Hi michelle,
I found out that my ggggrandfather did come from Ireland in the late 1700's. His name was John . And he had children and one of them was named George and he came with my great grandfather and his other children and wife to Boston. My grandfather's brother's name was william . Also, george had a brother and can't remmeber his name but i know he also came to the states. But i think he to california or down south. I do have some information but not on hand. if you get back to me i can try and get it to you either by mail or email.
Also, the story goes that when john went to ireland is was because he was stealing sheep. And, he brought with him a lady in waiting for the queen of england. I'm not sure of that this story is all that true.
Nice to hear from you. Also, i use this email address more often. It is suer2753@aol.com
Thanks
