I am either 4th or 5th generation of Drzonek's in the U.S.

What area of Europe are looking for?

Either my Great-Great Grandfather or my Great-Grandfather and his brother came to the U.S. from Poland.

My Grandfather spelt his name Dronek - not sure why, as all of his children are spelt Drzonek.

Please reply if this was any help or not.

Thank you.

What is your cousin's name?

dear lisa, thank you very much for your mail.i'm looking for any branches at the moment.since i do not know more than my dad's origin, i am intersted in my grandfathers (and great-grandparents) way to germany from stettin (1956 he escaped poland with family and settled first in northern germany and then in southern germany, heidelberg).
do you know about the polish branch of your familiy?
i really could imagine that "drzonek imigrants" in U.S. reduced the name to dronek due to the matter of fact none could pronounce it, isn't it?anyway it is difficult enough ;)))

it would be great hearing from you, best regards

heiko

Hi,

Was just surfing...check up on surnames every so often. My mother's maiden name is Drzonek. Several Drzonek families lived in Chicago....first of which imigrated in the 1860s. There is plenty of information available. Anyway...contact me or post, if I can be of help.

Ken

I was just "surfing" on the name "DRZONEK" which is in my tree through marriage. Here is what I have:

Anthony J. Drzonek(1867-1945) married Josephine Chlebowski(my link) on Nov-24-1891 at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Chicago, IL. Together they had 4-children:
Henry Drzonek(1893-1958)
Edward Drzonek(1894-?)
Clara Drzonek(1895-?)
Bennjamin Drzonek(Abt 1904-?)

Henry Drzonek married Cecelia Filipski on Jan-19-1916 at St. John Church, Chicago, IL. Together they had 3-children:
Arnold W. Drzonek(1917-2005)
William Drzonek(Abt 1920-?)
Frances Drzonek(Abt 1922-?)

I have census records plus a few other misc. records if anyone is interested.
