My lineage goes back to Jerg Fahrner, b. abt. 1605 and Genoveva Finkbeiner of Baiersbronn, Wuerttemberg, Germany. I know there are descendants of this lineage in Ontario, Canada and Huron Co., Michigan.

I saw your message. I am just starting to research my family history. My mother's maiden name is Farhner. She is still living. Her father, was Carl Fahrner whose father, I believe was John Fahrner with roots in Germany. Carl Fahrner died in 1974 in New Jersey; I remember because he was my grandfather and he lived with us. I know so little. Any information you have that you feel could be a link, or a help is greatly appreciated.

Susan,

I'm sure you will be connected to the Baiersbronn Families, find out all you can from your mother about your grandparents, and her grandparents. Her grandparents were probably the ones that immigrated and without their information it will be impossible to connect you up. Once you do connect up to Baiersbronn the information is tremendous and pretty overwhelming at first.

Searching for Fahrner's

I was born and raised in New Jersey. My father is Joseph Fahrner Jr.. This is the first search I have done to look in to my history.
I currently live in Florida and would like to know how many of us Fahrner's are out there. I never really had a chance to get to know
all of my family from me personally moving around so much. My father has lived in Salem NJ most of his life, same goes for my grandfather.
If any has any info into the Fahrner history or knows any of my family please let me know.

Thanks : )

Joseph Farhner

Allison,

Hello. My mother is a Fahrner. Her name is Elizabeth. Her father was Carl Fahrner. She has 3 other sisters, Kathy, Ida, and Freida. I believe that Carl and Joseph were brothers. I think that is correct. I, like you, have moved around a lot. I currently live in Virginia. A cousin of mine, Dawn Donelson,(Freida's daughter) has done extensive work on the Fahrner ancestry, so I could forward your email to her. But, curiously, I am going to Florida on vacation next week. I am wondering where you live in Florida. Tell me more about yourself. I am 34 and like I said my mother is a Fahrner. I had extensive medical problems and was trying to find out some medical history in order to help my Doctors. I am doing o.k.now; and it appears that the info I needed was on my father's side. Was your father one of the one's that owned the Bar in Salem, NJ? I know very little about my Grandfather, Carl. He died in the early 70's, and lived with us. But, I was only a small child then. I find it interesting to find out your heritage; it was especially important for me to try and find out some medical history. Please feel free to email me at my regular email account:SMBOB2@aol.com. I am named after Carl Fahrner's wife; my grandmother--Mary Susan Fahrner Fisher Bobbett (lots of names there)She died before I was born. But, I don't use Mary; I go by Susan. So, please keep in touch and if it's o.k. with you, I will pass on your email address to Dawn. She would probably be able to tell you a lot. She still lives in that area of NJ. Take Care and if you're anywhere near Miami or Ft Lauderdale, I'll have to look you up!!!

I was wrong about him owning the bar w/ my grandfather. I talked to my dad last night and he said Carl worked in a glass factory. It was John who owned half the bar. My father said he can remember going to the hospital to take Mary, Carls wife for therapy.
My great grandfather was Alexander Fahrner, one of Carls brothers.

I am going to give my grandmother a call she knows just about everything when it comes to who's related and how. I'll let you know what I come up with.

Take care,
Allison

Thanks for reply. I have dates/places of birth for Andrew F. and his wife, Anna Maria Braun but not dates/places of death.
Have names of Anna's parents but no other info. Have Fahrner info 4 more generations back. Is this a direct line or more collateral line for you?
