Hi there!
I'm a FILER researcher based in England and am a member of the Guild of One name Studies registered for the name FILER plus variants, my research is primarily England South Wales based, but I do have some US based family and contacts,
I see from message boards and various other locations that you are THE source on FYLER/FILER genealogy in the USA, having published a book you are way ahead of me too!
Have you traced back to the UK at all, if so when and where? My research is centred around 1700-1800 and I have a small but ever growing FILER database, I come across FYLER in the St Catherine's index here and feel sure they are the same family, whereas FILOR for example is not.
Anyway, would be keen to share notes with you and purchase copy of the book. I assume your publisher is on the net as well?
Let me if you want any information from me.
Regards

Hi there! I'll send you what I can, but can you let me know your e-mail is?
Mine's gpcfiler58@yahoo.co.uk or gpcfiler@bigfoot.com ( I'm using web based e-mail as I have a problem with Outlook at present.
I assume you are THE Jean Fyler-Arnold who wrote the Book on Fyler's in the USA?
Any idea where I can get a copy?

Would you have informaton on a Jacob Conrad Filer born Baden, Germany 1838-39? We believe he came to U.S. (Ohio) about 1849/50 at age 11. No info regarding his parents or siblings.

Sorry, no German FILER's in my research at all - though I believe that the name is of German origin (well some claim it is). Try the I.G.I
