I am looking for ancestors with the last name of Gaard, possibly descended to Minnesota from Norway in the early 1900's.

I have begun researching the descendants of Sjur Larson and Ingeborg Oddsdatter. Six of their children immigrated to the U.S.: Rakel (Rachel, married Tollak Knutson); Jonas (John)had one son Alfred Severt with first wife,married a second time; Lena (married Mike THompson); Severt (married Bertha Johnson; Johan (Joe, married Helen); Lauritz (Lewis, married another Lena Gaard). I have been unable to find John in any U.S. census or death records. Since there seem to be several Gaard families who immigrated, I'm interested to know if yours is connected.
