I have an Elizabeth GARRABRANT b. 07 Sep 1813 married to Garrett BACORN.
He was chr. in the Old Dutch Church of Totowa, Paterson,Passaic,NJ.
I don't know Elizabeth's ancestry but the
area of Marriage agrees with your Jaames
G. Garrabrant perhaps being her father.
Any chance?

Kathleen, you did not post your email address. I have several Johns in my data base. If I had a little more info I might be able to make a connection for you. KIM

Hi Kathleen,

I'm Paul Grammer and my mother was a Garrabrants -with the s. I do not have in my files the people whom you are looking for but you might want to be in touch with Fred Garrabrant, 44 Oakland Avenue, West Caldwell, NJ 07006,201-226-3537 - I don't think he's on line. Also - Pat Garbrandt (another of the 65 ways to spell the name) has an extensive file. She's at: 3537 Torrington St., Hilliard, Ohio 43026-1846.
You must go back to Gerbrant Claesen - if so we're probably 42nd cousins!

Good luck,

Paul Grammer

I believe we were in touch once before and you thought James J was Johns brother. James J. was born 1826. I have not been able to find anything else out about his parents but I am still searching. If you make a connection I would appreciate it if you contact me. Betty Lou Walker lulu5616@aol.com

Barbara, You said you have info on James J. Garrabrant born in NJ 9/9/1800. This could be the father. In my James J. I have a Passaic Co. NJ Queries Forum that says James was born 1825 in Paterson and that he had a brother Garrett. I think it is a connection and I would appreciate anything you can tell me. Someone else said she has a John that she thinks could be a brother. Maybe the pieces are starting to fall in place. Thank you and anxiously await your findings. Betty Lou Walker lulu5616@aol.com

I also descend from this line. The Garrabrants married into my Haring line. I have a hand drawn family tree with a little bit of info on them but would be interested in exchanging info too.
