While looking for her records, I found your site. There are many
Garramones in the Denver area.

they might be! I was 3 when my grandmother died, so I do not have
much information on her family.

I've been researching my husband's family, and I've noticed, in scanning ships lists on the net, that the name can be spelled many ways. My husband's mom spelled it Garamone, (which doesn't come up on most surname searches), I've seen ship lists that spell it Caramone, but the most common (and probably original spelling) is Garramone. (The Caramone spelling is the toughest one, since it won't come up in a Soundex search for Garramone). We're searching for ancestors of Mildred Garamone, married to Carl Carbone in New York. Both were born in New York, in the late 1800's to Italian immigrant familes; since that's all we know, we have a long way to go...

I only know of a Brother Salvatore who is related to my Grandmother Maria Garramone.

Something you might try is posting her name and information on a bulliton board in the Italian city of her birth, or the regional web site. (Hopefully her city of origin is listed on her immigration record.) There are many Garramone's living in Potenza, Italy and they have a web site with a bulliton board to post to.

Lori, how do I reach the Potenza Web Site? My Grandmother, Marie Angela Garramone (mother was Therese Santangelo) came from Potenza, Trivigno.
