The SS Death Index show a William Garrels who died
in Portland, Multnomah, Oregon. I am sure that he was
my grandmother's second husband. They had no children by
that marriage.

If this is someone you know about, I would like
to have any information that would help me in my search
for historical info on his wife's side. She was Esther
Victoria Anderson from Iowa.

I have a gggrandmother named Hilka Garrels, but I don't know her parents' names. She lived in NW Iowa. Do you know the names of Herman and Anna's children?

Thanks for your reply! I forgot all about that message post. Let's start with names of the children. Also, where did Herman and Anna live? Were they immigrants?

Yes, there were so many. I will give you what I can remember off the top of my head. That information is buried. The photo I have has the names .
Herman lived in Lake View , Iowa. A daughter the called Bene( Wobina), Earl, Charles, William, John, Frances, (Male) George. These are the ones I met as child. I will ask my father, not sure how much he can help as he had a stroke 2years ago and has lost some memory. I will get back to as soon as I find the rest of those names. Beverly
Ps. I see you spelled Anna's name Owen, are you sure of the spelling. I am positive my g.mothers name was spelled Auen.

Actually, I was replying to another message on which someone mentioned Owen as the last name. My guess is that their information was incorrect. Personally, I don' t have any information on that family other than what you gave me. I'm just trying to place Hilka Garrels, my ancestor, who lived in Iowa.
