Do you have any relation to August Geppert who left this area of Germany to Hawaii and married Augusta Ellenberg(?)another German expatriat?

Melissa!! My great grandfather emigrated from Baden or Alsace, via Bremen on the MILAN arriving at the Port of New Orleans on 2 December 1851. He settled in Illinois in the suburbs of St. Louis. He was born in July 1826. We have been unable to name the village he was from. His father's name was Carl(Karl)Göppert.

George G. Geppert was born 3/13/1852 in Baaden, Germany. He married Catherine Blum who was born 12/26/1850. In 1880 they came to America with their first four children. One of them was named Frank. They started in Kansas, then went to Nebraska and then to South Dakota. This Frank Geppert was my great-grandfather.

My great-grandfather(Franz Göppert/Frank Geppert) was born in July 1826. He came through the Port of New Orleans in December 1851, and settled in the St. Louis area. Originally he farmed in Madison County, IL; and later moved to East St. Louis, IL. He died in 1882 and is buried in Holy Cross Cemetery in St. Clair County. Three sons survived to adulthood and lived in East St. Louis all their lives. We have not been able to identify the village in Baden that he came from. He emigrated through Bremen, and thus their are no records in existance there. We have his Milan's Passenger List and his naturalization papers, but they only say Germany as previous address.

Adolph Albert Geppert, my great grandfather, was born in Diersburg, Baden, Germany. His parents were George Geppert and Theresia Muller. I visited Diersburg and got info from an old priest about Albert's parents. His siblings were; Theresia, Karl J. and George Gregory. His daughter,Frances, is my grandmother. She married John Stransky in SD.

Just playing around under the name Geppert and found this message. AA Geppert is my great grandfather as well. I am descended from his son, AB the 1st. I also have a copy of AA's diary. It is pretty interesting and I am sure you would like a copy. I would also love to hear any info you might have on the family.

Thank you

Hi Ben,
I also have AA's diary. It is really getting around. My grand-mother, Frances, was one of his children. She and my grand-father, John A Stransky, moved to California in the 20's. My Dad was born in South Dakota. My husband and I live in Woodland Hills, CA ( in the San Fernando Valley section of Los Angeles.) We are both retired. We have two daughters, both married. One lives in Denver, the other on the big island of Hawaii. Do you know any other Geppert descendants?

I had a Great Uncle August Geppert who lived in the Detroit Mi area in 1920. Do you think there is any connection? I have seen thye 1900 census & I believe your August was in the Washington State on that census.
