Hi Mel, Nice to hear from you, I did’nt think anybody was going to reply! I too am a relative newcomer to family history (2 years) and also hooked.
It is indeed Ann Gillah (Quarton Mitchell’s mother) and family at Eastrington in 1851, some of the dates are not quite right and there are more children so here goes :-
Thomas Gillah married Mary Quarton at Bishop Wilton in 1813, children :-
Mary b:1814, married Richard Ibbotson
Sarah b:1816, married Charles Voase
Jane b:1818, married Richard Peck
John b:1820, married Annie Eland
Eliz. b:1823, married Webster Clark
Robert Quarton b:1826, married Elizabeth Boast
Ann b:1834, married William Mitchell
Thomas Gillah b:1851 was the son of Jane Gillah before she married
Mary Ibbotson b:1844 was the daughter of Mary and Richard Ibbotson
Hope the above gives you something to mull over.

Can you help me with the following?
Ann Mitchell (Gillah) date of marriage & death, also do you know where she is buried?
I know that Quarton Mitchell married Eliz. Ann Dunn in 1879 and they had a son John William Mitchell, what happened after 1881? Also, what became of Robert, Thomas and Mary Mitchell? Hope I am not asking too much and if you want to know any more about the Gillah’s then just ask. If you want to e-mail me direct then send it to takead@aol.com
Cheers for now, Stephen.

Hi I don't know if you are still interested in the Gillah family. I know a bit about them but they are a very difficult family to find out about. Quarton Mitchell is my 1st cousin twice removed. His mother Ann Mitchell was my Great Great Aunt.

I am related to the Gillah family by my Grandmother who was Minnie Gillah born 1875 and died aged 99 1974. She married a Charles Southerden Davie. She is the daughter of Robert Quarton Gillah and Elizabeth Boast. I got quite a bit of information from Steven Perry but I am having great difficutly finding anything out about the Quarton family, equally so the Boast family.

Anything you can help me with will be appreciated. Likewise if I can give you any more information please ask.

Hi David, Thank you for contacting me regarding the Gillah family from Wilberfoss, Yorkshire. I have been interested in family history for a few years now but have not done much recently. To put things into a nutshell - my wife is a direct relation to this line and that is why I have researched it. I have a lot of information on the Gillah's going back to the 1500's, a lot of it helped by Nigel Gillah from New York. I do have you in my research and even have a photo of your Great, Great Grandfathers grave in Sutton upon Derwent (just up the road from me). If you want to know any more then email me at takead@aol.com

Regards, Stephen.
