Hello,
My name is Sue Preder and I'm researching my mothers ancestery. I found your name on the internet and hoped that you could provide me with some info. My mother is a Goedeke and the earliest name I have is Ludwig Goedeke...birth date before 1815, he had a son John Christian 16 Aug 1819 (Hornshausen, Prussia ?) who married Christine Witte (Giese) and Lucille Ballmann--- John had several children-Robert 1855, Mary, Flora, Louise and William. Robert had 8 children: william, George-1882, Alma 1890, Hattie 1893, Edna 1896, Anna 1899 and John 1899-twins, Emma 1901. I have many other names and alot more dates.......by any chance would you be related in any way. Most of the Goedeke's settled in Wisconsin-USA and some in New York, USA. Please take a moment and let me know either way.....Thank You
Sue

sorry I don't speak German.

Dear Sue,
Here is what we have; Mollie Henrietta Victoria Getke married in WI, 1/24/1881 (unconfirmed) to Alonzo Schnell b. 1860. We think she was born in Freinstein, Germany. Could this fit into your tree? Contact us at slm020755@aol.com

Hi Sue, My Mother was also a Goedeke, but unfortunately I know less than you. Her
parents-William Joseph Goedeke(1880?) and
Ursula B. Mackenmull(1880?) both probably
born in Baltimore, MD. Gfather William's Death Certificate only has the name of Henry
as the father and mother unknown. Gmother's
Death Certificate states Mackenmull and Stieffel as parents. All born in Baltimore,
MD. Let me know....redbird39@hotmail.com

Well it doesn't look like we will be able to join our familys afterall. I was looking to join Christian Goedeke, dob Aug 16, 1809 in Prussia, married in 1854 to a Christine Witte (Giese) dob 1825 from Germany...this was a second marriage-the first being a Lucille Ballmann, somehow to your family. Christian/Christine had 5 children: Robert (1855), Mary, Flora (1859), William. All I know about William is that in 1848 the family split up and William stayed in New York and the rest came to Wisconsin.
Robert had 8 children: William H, George (1882),Alma (1890),Edna (1896)Anna/John-Twins (1899), Emma (1901) I could go on from there, but it doesn't look like I would need to......it's to bad that we don't link. And as far as William goes....I have nothing either, just of last location.Well you have a great day and thanks for repling. Well guess I better go.....say hi to Ken for me and thank him also for responding. Bye Sue

Sue, could you give us your e-mail address. Alfred's mother is Ernst Goedeke. He spelled his name GOEDECKE until his first wife died, then he changed the spelling to GOEDEKE. He was born in Hannover, Germany in 1844; died 16 May 1919 in Pittsburg, Kansas. Wonder if we make a connection. We don't speak German either.

My email address is predsue@bytehead.com. Yes I'm interested in all the Goedekes. I have Christian 1809 from Germany and Ludwig his father (?).....the list is long after 1809, but I still can't find anything on Ludwig.....that is the end. Let me know what you have, with your email address and I can send my info to you. Thanks ever so much
