Don't have specific info on a Burton Goetsch, but wondering if you could put him in context of a place/date. Perhaps I can help.

Still don't see that name. I have an Albert Henry Goetsch in IL with 2 sons (Noble CountY). Does that ring a bell?? What was your grandfather's name?

My Grandfather's name was August (no middle initial) Goetsch, his mother was Mary Ebersteiner from the Alsace Lorraine Region of Germany. He was the seventh son of a seventh son; his brothers settled in the Ottawa, IL area and several of them went to the St. Paul/Minneapolis Area. There are also some Goetsch's in Mission Kansas that are offshoots of some of these brothers.

Jeannine,
I'm not running across that specific husband/wife in my database. My GOETSCH family has its roots in Kreis Naugard (the province) in Pomerania. They came to America (settling in WI) in 1843 during the mass-emigration of Old Lutherans from Pomerania. There's an excellent site which attempts to re-capture the genealogy of these Pomeranian immigrants to America at...

http://www.feefhs.org/dpl/dv/indexdv.html

A note about Pomeranian names -- typically individuals were given several names (e.g., Johann Friedrich Ernst Goetsch), but were known by their second name. So, August was probably your ancestor's second name -- which could make it awkward to identify him in records -- hence, I would focus on locating the marriage record which should list his complete name and offer the best leads. -- Linda

Am searching for info on a Klaus Goetsch He came to America sometime before 1881. I think he settled in the eastern part of Iowa. His son Peter came to America before he came. I do not know what his wife's name was but they (Klaus ) had four children. Magdalen(Bohnhoff), Anna (Schacht) Cecelia(Leth) and Peter. If any of these names are familar please contact me. Also have a picture marked Albert Goetsch. Thank You

I am the grandson of Mina Goetsch(b1900)the dau of Albert August(b1864) who was the son of William Fredrick August(b1820), the son of Ernst Heinrich Goetsch(b1775),settled in and around Dodge Co, Wi, immigrated from Pommern.
My question is if anyone has created a concise printed genealogy of the Goetsch family and how did you do it. My Goetsch database is massive and I am sure my family would consider it overwhelming to read if printed in its current state. Any ideas?

We also are trying to research the Goetsch Family. My husband is the grandson of a William Goetsch who lived in the Ethan South Dakota area. My Father-in-law Harold was one of 18 children. We do not know if the grandfather (William) had any brothers or sisters. Any help would be appreciated.
