I am researching Jakob Grabowski who may or may not be the same man who was awarded the Polish Order of the Virtuti Militari (Poland's sequivalent to the Medal of Honor or the Victoria Cross). He had a daughter named Florentina b.6 Jan 1842. She married on 20 June 1860 to Friedrich Moritz (b.19 June 1841 at Reichenberg, Ger.) It is possible that Jacob Grabowski had connections to the German nobility. I am looking for any information at all. Thanks. Malinda

My grandfather Gustave Luebke's older sister married a Grabau. Her maiden name was Martha M. Luebke and she was born in 1884. She signed my grandfathers birth certificate in April 1941. Her place of residence was listed as 119 Adrian St, Wausau, WI. Is there any connection?

My family has Grabau ancestors, likely related to yours. The earliest Grabau in our line is Christian Grabau, born 12/7/1804 in Obdoro, West Prussia. He and his wife, Anne Wilbrecht (1804 West Prussia) died in Forestville, Minnesota.

Hi Joe, Did Martha Luebke marry Edward Grabau? Edward is my great-grandfathers brother. I have a marriage date of Sept. 30, 1905. I also have a Agnes Marie Luebke who married Edward's brother Karl. Is she somehow related to Martha?

My husband's grandmother was a Grabau. We have a book of the family history going back to Christian Grabau. Reply cindyh@hfsb.com

I think we may have a connection! Unfortunately I don't know Martha's husbands first name. She was born in 1884 in Wausau. Her sister Agnes M. was born in November 1887. Their brother Gustave William was my grandfather. Do have any details on them? Thanks for the reply!

Hi Joe, I have a form Edward filled out for the 1939 Wausau Centennial. I have the same address you listed: 117 Adrian st. So I'm sure we have a connection. Martha and Edward married Sept. 30, 1905 in Wausau. Had 7 children. I'm giving you my email address so I can write you with more info. Just drop me a note with your email. Thanks! pedersen@scc.net
