Nicole,
My mother's maiden name was Avis Haase
She was born in Olympia,Wa and raised in Todd county, Mn. My Grandfather was John Haase. He was born in Todd County Mn. His parents names were Eva Taunt Haase and John Haase. He had several brothers and sisters. Della Delbert Cyrill and Phyllis. That's basically what I can remember off the top of my head. I think Aunt Phyllis is still alive living in Washington. I also know where their family homestead is outside of Bertha Minnesota and is still a working farm. I have more family tree information in my attic and lots of pictures.

Hi May!

I forwarded this page to Bernice Richards who is the daughter of Dorothy Richards and the granddaughter of Rudolph Haase and Eva
Taunt. Her mother is a sister to your relative John. She has a ton of info on your branch of the family. Just this week a grandson of Aunt Carrie Haase Parker, Rudolph's sister, came on line and introduced himself. Then a younger cousin, granddaughter of my dad's sister came on and we welcomed her too! I hope that you will get in touch! We have a cool web site and need you there too!

So, hope to see you on line or hear that you have reached Bernice. She is at Bernie123@netzero.net.
Bye for now,
Marie

I too just started looking into my ancestory. Saw that you were looking for information on Soter. My maiden name is Soter, which was my grandfather's first name when he arrived here through Ellis Island in the early 1900's. Typical of that time, since they couldn't pronounce his last name, which was Greek, they changed his surname to his first name. My father Alexander Soter was born in CT and lived and died in Southbridge MA. My Fathers brother always said that the proper spelling of Soter, should have been Sotar. I am still investigating that issue.
I would be interested in any information you have been able to gather.

My father was born to Nellie Jane Bieschline and given up for adoption. He is 68 years old. His father was Thomas Haase. That's all we know. We have just met Nellie for the first time in 67 years. My dad was 1 when he was placed. His original name was Richard Dean Beischline. We know that Thomas was married and had a child already. Thomas went to see my dad in the orphanage before he was placed. We figure that he was probably around 17-21 when my dad was born and is probably no longer living, but we would like to know if he has siblings that might be interested in meeting him. At least one would probably be around 68-70 years old. This was in Denver, Colorado.

You have LOTS of Soters in Detroit, Michigan. Also, in Florida California. My mothers maiden name was Rose Soter. She married Michael Wiykovics in 1940 in Detroit, Michigan-both are now deceased-but did produce six "Wiykovics-Soters" i.e., four boys two girls. If you want more information contact me @ LWiykovics@aol.com or the Hungarian League in Michigan. My Uncle Joe Soter was a active member until his passing, but there are still pleanty of Soters' to contact. Good Luck!
