Dear Dr. Hargan:
I am so excited right now. Another Hargan whom I have been communicating with Donna, has just given me the information for this message board. The Michael Hargan you are seeking information on is my ggg grandfather! I can give information on the Hargan's in that line, Michael's son Daniel is my gggrandfather and Daniels son Henry is my gggrandfather, who is the father of my great grandmother Aura Lee Hargan (Haselwood) to make this even more exciting I noticed that you live in Mtn. Center Ca.. That is so funny, I live in San Jacinto Ca. only about 30 minutes away from you. I am so anxious to talk and share information.

Hi Dr. I did some checking and I can not find any informations so far that indicates Michael Hargan had another wife before Elizabeth. He was in Berkeley Co. VA before he moved to KY. Berkeley Co. VA is now part of west VA. He also did reside in Dinwiddie Co. VA for a while to, so I will check that out. Yes, he was in the revolutionary war I found that information and information on him drawing a slight pension, which he did not get until he was 80 yrs. old and that started in 1833. Please look at my other post, and let me know how you are related to Michael Hargan I am so very curious. Thanks..

Donna--back from hosp--doing well, thank you for the thoughts prayers!--our E-mail is hargan@popnetusa.com (we still are having trouble with it and must reconfigure--if ok with you maybe this time would be good to send "snail mail"--looking forward immensely hearing from you--you might try E-mail but probably best, for now--our old fashioned way:Dr.Mrs.Jack Hargan/71150 Bighorn Drive, #RC151-E/Mt. Center, Ca., 92561-3812--thanks again for the response and I know we will have fun sharing "stuff"--Artis

Just back from the hospt--all okay now and I can get back to my "fun stuff"---Our family is from James--Daniel's brother--I know what you mean when we contact someone--We have even been to the original Hargan Farm in Ireland (now inhabited by Anthony Hargan)--he has the deed to the original Hargan in early 1700--exciting stories and the rest!--Just really recuperating now, so be patient with my response but promise return to you and anticipate any info you have--our big glitch has been the exact crossing ship plus we continue a suspected first wife for Michael--as he was in America such a long time prior to his marriage to
Elizabeth (also--we have visited Wallingford England--home of the Wallingford Family--and there are ruins of an old castle there--how about that!---lots of exciting things to relay to you but I will be slow--also much history about Ft. Knox and the Hargan Family (do not know if you have this part)--our E-mail seems to be in a mess and we are also in process of configuring it again--so our "snail mail" is still the best for communicating--sometimes we get our e=mail messages and sometimes we don't--also our messages do not get sent--so: address: 71150 Bighorn Dr., #RC151-E, MT.Center,Ca 92561-3812 best for now--try E-mail too but never know if it works correctly--hope to have it straightened out before long--thanks for the response and know we'll have fun getting the data together--also looking for a Hargan Bible that was mentioned in early family ties---Believe Michael to be a converted Catholic--hence the flee from Ireland--and continuing problems in America plus Elizabeth a protestant--so much of the Hargan Family interesting and a strong genetic tendency towards medicine too--thanks for the response and look forward to hearing from you---ARtis Hargan

Dear Dr. Hargan:
Hello, and glad that you are home and hope that you are feeling well soon. It is wonderful to hear from you. I have been checking my post almost everyday. It is so exciting to hear from a distant family memeber. I only started my genealogy research about a year ago and have been working on many family surnames. I wish I had a lot to share with you on the Hargan surname, but most of what I have found is already on the internet. It sounds as though you have quite a bit of information. I have found a few cousins recently and it is always a thrill! I haven't went back and checked my post but I believe I may have explained my relation to Michael Hargan wrong before so I will go through this again. Forgive me if I am repeating myself. My great grandmother Aura Lee Hargan is the daughter of Henry Hargan son of Daniel Hargan, who is the son of Michael Hargan..It can get confusing sometimes! So the easiest way for me to say it is Michael Hargan is my great grandfather x 4. You are on the James side son of Daniel who is my great grandfather x 3. Please correct me if I am doing this wrong! I have not been at this for very long and have a lot to learn. I assume then that James Hargan, would be your great grandfather x?. I really would like to know exactly how closely we are related. Nice to talk to you, and hope to hear from you soon. Wishing you well.

Dear Dr. Hargan:
I just realized after I posted my last reply to you that I had made a mistake and said that James was the son of Daniel. I have it straight now, and just wanted to let you know that I noticed my mistake. That they were brothers. Hope to hear from you soon. Get well.
