I was very interested to read that your great grandfather was born in @ 1883 in Fulham, because that is were my great grandfather was born. We cannot trace where or when he died in South Africa. Do you know who his parents were?

Surnames: HIERONS
Hi Carl, I hope this finds you as I see you haven't posted in a few years. I have been researching my Hierons family links also and don't know whether we can help each other but heres my history...

me - Kimberley Sullivan
my father - Robert Sullivan
his mother - Alice Harrison
her mother - Maud Mignonette Patten
her mother - Elizabeth Ann Hierons (born 1860 in Victoria, Australia)
her father - William James Hierons (born 1831, Somerset, England, immigrated to Australia in 1852 with his wife Eliza Copenhagen)

...and that is as far as I can get. Hierons is proving to be quite an uncommon surname, and thus very difficut to find and info on, until I stumbled upon your website. Well done by the way, its great! Although we may not connect any of our ancestors yet, with this surname there must be a connection somewhere. If you want to chat, my email is kimberleyerin@yahoo.com.

Hi,
I am researching my family tree on my father's side. His parents were Herbert Harold Cook and Charlotte Eliza Patten.
Herbert's mother was Ellen Cook, daughter of Harland Cook and Sarah Ellen Bouchier. Charlotte's parents were Robert Patten and Elizabeth Ann Hierons. Robert's parents were Josiah Patten and Hannah Salway. Elizabeth's parents were William James Hierons and possibly Eliza Copenhagen or Norton Hodgman. If you share a common ancestor could you e-mail me on andeford@aapt.net.au. Ta Ande

Surnames: Hierons, Coyne
Hi David
I live in England and am researching a branch of my family tree (surname Coyne) who emigrated to Durban in the 1920's. I found that my relative, Benjamin C.G.M. Coyne was buried in Stellawood Cemetery in Durban in 1984. I also found he was buried with 2 others in the same grave: a Victor John Hierons (died 21/11/1981 age 45)& Robina Frances Coyne (buried 2009 age 85). I know the grave/plot belonged to the Hierons family. Robina could have been Benjamin Coyne's wife (maiden name Hierons??). I am looking for Hierons in Durban to confirm their link. Can you help? I would be pleased to help with your research in England. I have spoken to a Karen Hierons in England this week.
Thanks.

Hi Vivienne,
I am David Hierons's brother and picked up your mail as I have just added my family tree to ancestry, it is private at the moment and not sure whether I will make it all public, must wait and see.
Victor John Hierons was my half brother and Robina Francis Coyne was my Fathers first wife who died in 2009 and you are correct she was buried in one of the family graves in Stellawood cemetery.
Regards
Barry

Hi Barry
Many thanks for replying to my post. I appreciate that your family tree is private and I do not want to pry into it. My distant ancestor was Benjamin (Benny) Coyne who was buried in the same grave as Robina and your half brother Victor. I would only like to know a little more about Benny and wonder if you were able to tell me when he and Robina married and whether they had any children? This would very much help fill in gaps in my tree. I have been researching this branch of my tree for over 25 years.
Thank you once again.
Regards.
