Would like to correspond with others of this name. Christian Hoberg was our immigrant ancestor. He arrived in Detroit, Michigan about 1842. He moved his family to Sheboygan, Wisconsin a few years later. One of his sons, Louis Hoberg, married Amelia Armstroff.

My grandfather was Gustaf Hoberg, B:1879 and D:1953. He came from Sweden in late 1800's or early 1900's. My mother was born in the US in 1909. Gustaf's surname had been changed from Olson to Hoberg at maybe his workplace in Sweden or when he came to this country. Gustaf's mother's name was Maria and his father was Olaf. His mother came to this country also and died in Ironwood, MI where Gustaf had settled.

Thanks for the reply. I haven't discovered the connection with the Swedish Hobergs yet.

All I know how is that my family was from Prussia.

My great grand father, John Theodore Hoberg came from Stockholm, Sweden in the late 1800's. I have his birth certificate and the original spelling of his name was Hogburgh. He settled in the Central Ohio area.

Lynn,

My grandfather, Charles Hoberg was born c. 1904. He raised his family in Portsmouth, Ohio. Do you know whether Theodore was his father?

Hi Alan,

Thanks for your reply, my great grandfather had ten children. From my research, none was named Charles. I will talk to my grandmother and find out more. Are you currently in the Ohio area.
