Dear Looker, I also am looking for any Issit's. Mine should be in Russia(hopefully) Scotland,France or perhaps England. She, Esther, should be married to John Wilson born in the British Chaplaincy in St. Petersburg, Russia. about 1850-60

hi there, I don't have any of those names as of yet. I did get a letter from the IZAT web list that they believe the name came from Scotland. I have my ancestors back to Brooklyn, New York. They migrated to Wisconsin and then Michigan. It would be the late 1800's also.
James John, Cornelius B., Washington.

This was my uncle, my father was Raymond Issitt and his older brother was Chester, they lived in Abilene together with sisters Bertha, Edna, and Elsie. What is your connection with the family and if you desire, I can give you more info. My father passed away almost 19 yrs ago now, he was the baby in the family, but my mother is still alive and knows and corresponds with the remaining family members in Abilene.

I cannot believe someone responded! I cannot even remember when I posted the original message. My grandfather was Chester Issitt, his wife was Irma. They had three children, Dean, Doris and Dale. Dale was my father. Chester died in 1960 something. Irma died not too many years ago. My brother's name is Ray mond, but I never dreamed he was named after a relative. I don't think I ever knew Grandpa Issitt's family. I remember Grandma Issitt's mother, her name was Linkletter, and she lived to be 91. Her birthday was the same as mine - March 11. She always gave me a quarter on by birthday, wrapped in the corner of a handkerchief. Where do you live? We live in Dallas now.

I cannot believe it either, just happened to find this site and decided to see if any Issitts were listed. You can sign up for www.ICQ.com (it's free) and I found Dean Issitts name, ICQ #70180076 and I emailed him about the family but he said I should contact his sister and then I never heard any more from either. Glad I found you too, We live in Sacramento, CA, have 3 children, and my mom, Olga is your great great aunt, (your grandpas brothers wife) she is 88 now and doing terrific. Your great grandpas name was Roderick Randolph Issitt, wifes name was Dora Elizabeth Lehman(not real sure of the spelling of her last name). I just found 3 Raymond Issitts with address listed in England and thought I might write them as my fathers family all came from England then to Kansas. Guess I must be a cousin of yours, but which one, 1st, 2nd, 3rd? your grandpa was my uncle Chet, gives you something to figure out. You can email me any time at Elegram@aol.com and we can continue this message. Let me know what else I can track down for you and I will sure try, also let me know about your family, etc. Fondly Pat
