Need help finding my family

My relatives came to the states in the 1890's. The last name was changed because of fear of being found. We have no records, no history, and no knowledge of much of anything. I'm looking to find some clues or hints that might help me find my long lost relatives. We are a jewish family, and came from either Russia, or surrounding countries. If anyone has any information that might help me please email me.

Thank you

I know you posted this 10 years ago but if you're still around I'll try to help you out. I'm looking for Yankowitz / Jancovic family members myself.

I'm also looking for Jankovicz family members from Drahovo which was part of Czechoslovakia, but is now part of the Ukraine. It is not far from Chust. Family members include, Dov and Chaya Lea, Hersh and Pesul (parents of Dov). Some of the kids were Herman/Tzvi, Jack/Yaakov, Moshe, Refuel, and Bayla.
