My name is Wanda Kealaiki and I am trying to get some background for my family tree. I am not sure, but I think my mother's last name (birthname) was Kahaunaele. My mother was adopted twice when she was little. So I don't know if Kahaunaele was her first adopted parents name or not. I know that I have two uncles whose last name is Kahaunaele. My uncle Gene lives in Vista CA and my other uncle lives in Oahu. My mother's name is Vivian. Her maiden name is Risko (second adopted parent's name) and her first married name was Kealaiki. Any help that you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Wanda,
I am a Kahaunaele descendant, and new at doing my genealogy. My greatgrandmother was Mary Kaaihaole Kahaunaele. She was born in Pelekunu, Molokai abt 1874 and died on Oahu in 1910.She had 2 sons who are Armitage(s), and I believe 11 children who are Nobriga(s).
Mary's father and mother were Sam Kahaunaele of Molokai and Ellen ( ? ) last name not known.

Aloha Patty,
Mary Kaaihaole Kahaunaele is also my greatgrand mother. Helen Nobriga Mattos (Mary's daughter) is my grandmother and my mother (Helen's daughter) is Joan Aileen Mattos Kaaiai. We are trying to get more information about Elena's parents. All we have is S. Kama and Beke Kanohoho`okahi. The S. could be Sam and Kama could be Kamaka, but we are not sure.
