I am trying to find anyone that can help me find information about John J and Fanny Carris or Karras Kalley. I believe my grandfather James J or A Kalley was their son. James was born 01/02/1892. The family might have lived in Iowa. Please contact me at GKKLEE@Alta Vista.com

We might be related. My name is Michelle (Shaw) Tambellini. My great-great-great grandparents were William B. Shaw and Jinnat (Jennie,Jane) (McCorkle) Shaw who had a daughter named Margaret B. Shaw who married Daniel S. Kalley on January 10, 1850. I have copies, pages, from Shaw family bibles with names, dates, etc. My family lived in Parke Co, Indiana, later migrated to Missouri. I am descended from Margaret's brother, Stephen P. Shaw. I have been looking for any information on my family and it's been hard. I would love to hear fom you. James, I'm not sure if we are related. Thank you for your reply. My ancestor Margaret B. Shaw married Daniel S. Kalley in Parke County in 1850. Her parents were William B. Shaw and Jinnat (Jane, Jennie) McCorkle. They were from South Carolina. Daniel S. Kalley was A Methodist Minister. Daniel and Margaret are buried at the Martin Cemetery in Parke County, Indiana. Daniel S. Kalley's parents were Newell and Susannah Kalley. They are buried at the Martin Cemetery. Daniel S. Kalley was born May 21, 1828 and died Nov. 15, 1908. Margaret Kalley was born , 1824 and died Mar. 24, 1901. Newell Kalley died April 2, 1855 at the age of 51 years. Susannah Kalley died April 10, 1835 at the age of 23 years. I do not have alot of Kalley info yet and maybe we could be distantly related. I will keep checking. Let me know if you have any more info, too. I am related to the SHAW, STAGGS, MCCORKLE families of Indiana, also. I have Cherokee heritage from the Shaw/Staggs line.

The name Kalley and Parke Co., IN go hand-in-hand. Your Daniel Kalley may be the son of Daniel Kalley and Vashti Bliss. He was born 11 May 1819 in Oxford, Butler Co., OH. The Kalley clan was in Parke Co. in the 1820's. Note of caution: The Kalley Patriarch, John Kalley, who died Dec3mber 28, 1644 in Newbury, MA wrote his name as Kalley, but by the time the descendents came to IN the spelling was Kelley more often than not.

Surnames: Kalley
Michelle, I am very confused at this time about where my grandfather came from. I have a marriage certificate that says he was from Iowa. Iowa says no he wasn't. I have my father's birth certificate and a draft registration ( for my grandfather) that states he was from Greece. I also have a 1920 census report that states my grandfather was from Greece . However I can't find any collaberation from Greece or any where else that my grandfather James Kalley was born there. I am beginning to think he was one of the Kalley's from Indiana. He did live in Indianapolis at 1306 Deloss St. when he married my grandmother. Do you have any missing Kalley's male born 1/2/1892
