Looking for information about my great grandfather in Mill Run, Fayette County, PA (southwest PA). Died sometime before 1910. Married to Emma Bigham (sp?), son Ralph M. Krepps.
Anyone with information? Would appreciate any other information on family line.

Hi, I'm a Krepps. My father is Richard Krepps, born in Harrisburg, PA. His father was Stewart and mother Grace. I have very little info on the Krepps family, but my father is still with us and could help.

Kendal - Can you talk to your father and find out as much family history as he can recall. Are either of his parents living?

My father's parents have both passed away years ago. My grandfather was Stewart Krepps born 1/2/1893 and died 10/73. He had a brother named John and John had a son named John Jr. Stewart Krepps married Grace (Allandar) Krepps but unsure of the date of marriage. Grace was born 8/29/1904 and died 12/77. Stewart and Grace lived in Harrisburg and Duncannon. They had 1 son (my father) named Richard Krepps born 10/5/43. He graduated from high school in Harrisburg in 1961. That's about all I have now. What else would help you out? I can contact my father for more info. Do you have any info on John or John Jr. Krepps?

Thanks for the information you sent. I don't know if your grandfather would have been related or not. Harrisburg is some distance from the Pittsburg area and the dates don't work out at least at the grandfather level, so I think the chances are slim. The only information I have is what follows:

Rix Krepps (my father, born Elizabeth, PA 10 April 1927, died Feb 1997 St, Clair Shores, MI)
Ralph Meighan Krepps (my grandfather, 28 Dec 1902 born Mill Run vicinity, died, 13 Feb 1956 Detroit, MI)
Jesse Krepps (my great grandfather, born 10 Feb 1870 - location not sure, died 9 May 1904, Mill Run vicinity, he is buried in the Bigham family [he was married to Emma Bigham] cemetery in Mill Run)
That's all that I have. There are lots of Krepps' in Fayette County in 1870 and I haven't gotten access to the soundex for 1870 for PA yet. I hope to do that this fall/winter sometime. But until then I have no clue who Jesse's parents were (or even for sure that they were in Fayette County).

If I run across anthing on John or John Jr. I will le tou know.

Thanks,
Karen

Karen,

Thanks for the info. Not sure if any of the dates match up or work out, but we'll keep trying. If I come up with any more, I'll be sure to post it here. Kendal

My husband's grandmother was Elizabeth Krepps who was born about 1866 in Iowa. She lived in Kansas after her marriage to Fletcher Macpherson Taylor about 1885. She died in Lineville, Wayne Ct, IA about 1910. Her mother's name was probably Mary as the census shows an elderly Mary Krepps on the same page as the Taylor family. Did I say that was the Kansas census? I am ancestorly challenged as to the name of Elizabeth's father. The Krepps in Pennsylvania have captured my interest as the Taylors were also from Chester County, PA. If anyone has a suggestion I will be thrilled.
