Hi Samantha. I am Leighanna Kritner. My grandfather is Earl Kritner. His parents were from Germany. I am nearly positive that we may be on the same track, I have often wandered what my great-grandfather was like and that is the biggest part of why I am looking up my ancestory here. If this is the same person we are lokking for information on I only have a picture of him and his wife. I only know they were from Germany and they are both deceased. Email me if you have a brother named Earl Kritner or if you want to figure out if this is the same person. Or if you have already found out any information please let me know. One other thing my uncle also has a daughter named Samantha. Thank you Leighanna Kritner

This is Leighanna again. I asked my grandmother about my grandfathers family the Kritners came from Germany by train. The first stop they made was in Cullman were Jon Cullman talked my Great Great Great Great Grandfather John Kritner into staying. They staked their claim on 100acres of land that is were most of the Kritners are now. They possiby were from Berlyn,Germany because they founded a place in Cullman and named it Berlin. They gave some of the land to build a church which is still there named Oak Level. My grandfather's father was Bob Kritner and his wife was Maggie Kritner they had about 10 kids. Two were named Artis one of them (the youngest)is still living in Georgia. The other is deceased. I know my grandmother told me that they used to live in Mississippi when they were younger before they moved up here. I hope this points you in the right direction for your search on the Kritners in Germany...

Hey Leighanna. I apologize for not responding. I was working on a family tree project for school at that time. My father was Airtis, and his father was also named Airtis. I do not know my grandfather's middle name, but my dad's was LaWayne. He was born to Airtis and Annie Merle Kritner on 02/14/51. Thank you very much for the information. Again, I apologize for taking so long to reply. Thanks! Samantha Kritner

My family came from Baden in mid 1800's and ended up homesteading in Johnson County, Nebraska. Michael and Harriet had several children, at least one son, Jacob, also farmed in Johnson County.

Is this your Kritner family? I'd like to hear from you.
