Bonjour

My name is Brian Langdeau and I am currently working with my cousin Terry, on our family history.
My grandfather was Oswald Langdeau and he married a Boisse in Quebec around 1920, we think.
We currently have very little to go on except a number of turn-of-the-century photographs and postcards that we would love to share with you, if you are interested. Many of the cards are mailed to family in Rhode Island and the surrounding area.

Thank you for you time and hope to hear from you.

Brian, I saw your messages on the Ancestry web site. I am Andrea Boisse daughter of Rodolphe Boisse, son of Damis Boisse of I think Stuckley Canada...my family settled in
Rhode Island and surrounding areas...I have very little in the way of pictures or info on my fathers family ...most was thrown out or they could not store it years ago..my grandfathers parents died when my father was very little. My father is now 74 and has no clue about the family line...My grandfather Damis was married to Philomeme Gagne..from Mass. If you have anything to assist me I would very much
appreciate it. Sincerely
Andrea Jean Boisse

I have a pretty complete familiy tree of the Paquet side of the family, but would love to know about the Langdeau part of the family. I know that Marie Louise Lanadier de Langdeau married Francis Xavier Paquet in 12/1/1836 in Missouri. Marie was born in St. Louis, Missouri July 7, 1818. She was daughter of Laurence Lanadier de Langdeau and Theoiste de Tuga de la Violet. She was from one of the oldest French families in America. They settled first in Louisiana, moving to what is now Indiana while it was still french territory. Her grandfather Jean De Tuga plotted the cityof Vincennes. During an Indian Attack they fled to St. Louis. Her grandfather stayed behind to collect the goods and was never seen again. Marie Louise was well educated speaking both French and Spanish. She had four sisters- Elizabella - married Alexander Beatty; Adeline - married peter Vandervost; Brigette - married George Cable. Marie Louise died at Maupin in 1896 and is buried in Kelly Cemetary there. If you need anymore info just e-mail me. (My father was excellent at keeping records - he was Joseph Francis Xavier Paquet)

I, too, am a decendant of Maurice Langdeau and Margaret Hart. Their daughter, Addell married William Z. Emery 2/14/1877 in Wheeler, SD. My grandfather was Hen;ry Benedict (Dick) Emery. I have not found out much about the Langdeau's - probably came up from Rulo, Nebraska. Are you familiar with a book -The Saga of Sully Flats - written and compiled by Adeline S Gnirk and published in 1977? In that, under the Emery name she gave a little bit of history of the Langdeau family. If you do not have access or have not seen this, I will be glad to copy it off for you. I also have a wonderful picture of Margaret Hart Langdeau, supposedly when she was 105 years of age. I live in Rapid City so am not so far away. Please let me hear from you. Ginger Nelson
