My mom's maiden name is Leep...decended from E.K. Leep who is a brother to Duke. Are you related to Duke Leep? Leep is a Dutch name, from Groenegin. What info are you looking for? Brenda

I am from the Leeps who settled in Oregon. John Leep, who started it all, came aboard ship from Germany. He changed his name from Glascock to Leep, stating that he "leaped across the ocean" or so the story goes. His son was John, who died in Virginia. His children helped found the town of Halfway, Oregon, in Union County. They were Elza, Ellis, Selby. John's other children were Thadius, Alphaeus, Curvis (?), Dr. Kersey, James, Marsha, Mary. I am not sure where these family members settled. My great-grandfather was Elza Leep. Let me know if I can be of further help. My great-aunt did a lot of research before the days of internet. God Bless. Ruth

I am related to the John Leep you mentioned. (Or to his son). He is a cousin of my grandfather, Robert Wallace Leep. His grandmother, Grace Helen Leep was an artist in the Portland area. I am trying to also locate any lost paintings as she donated quite a few of the paintings and we are trying to aquire a picture history of all of her art. I will be making a trip to Halfway, OR to try to find more information.

Ellis was my greatgrandfather, Sarah Leep was his mother. Am interested in information on her husband - d.o.b., d.o.d, Wayne County or Wetzel County, WV?

Mary Leep Robinson was Ellis' sister, other sister was Martha?

Dear Ruth,
My great gradfather was Kersey Armstrong Leep who settled in Myrtle Point Ore by 1891. I have found a Leep cousin in Jacksonville Ore.Kersey married three times-my line comes from his marriage to Sara Endicott. They had 5 children one of which was my grandmother Freda. She married into the Roberts of Myrtle Point. My mother Alyce Kay was her only child. I had very little information about any earlier Leeps except for Kersey's parents names. Your message has filled in a bit more of the gaps! Thank you. I will be very happy to exchange any information that would be helpful to you. I hope to hear from you soon at the above e-mail.
Many thanks,
Franda
