My fathers dad's name is Robert Lee Lincycomb, his fathers name is Robert E Lee Lincycomb, I am kin to the famous Robert E Lee. Anyway i know that the man that you wish to seek more info about is directly related to my gr-grandfather Robert E Lee Lincycomb. I know that I'm not really of any help to you right now but I am sure that if I ask my grandmother about who you speak of I can get you some information. I know that the spelling LINCYCOMB for JAMES R.W LINCYCOMB is infact the correct spelling of the name, his name LINCYCOMB was NOT variated. The only other variation of this name for this family is LINCECOMB which I have been told by elder kin is Sweedish. The spelling LINCECOMB has not been used for this family for centries.

Hi Jennifer and Larry,
James Lincycomb & Permelia Schooler were the parents of Josie Jane Lincycomb who married James Lafayette Lemons. James Lafayette and Josie Jane were my great grandparents.
Larry, I've talked to you via email and gotten some of your info from Mary Barnes. We can't seem to find anything on James before his marriage to Permelia. Do either of you know where he came from or who his parents were?
I'd like to send both your email address to a fellow searcher who has exhausted herself looking for info on this man. Maybe if the four of us put our heads together we can break this brick wall down? Thanks to both of you for getting in touch with me.

Hi Jennifer , Larry, Cyndia

Sorry, I don't have any thing on your James Robert William Lincycomb. I am researching the Lincicome and other spellings of the name. It wasn't untill the 1850'a that Lincicome was spelled the way it is today. The story that I have heard, is there was four brothers that came to the U S. In 1658 Thomas Linscomb came to Anne Arundel Co. Md. His decendents now spell there name as- Linthicum. I am try ing to tie Lincicome, Lincicum, and Lincecum to this spelling. Or to one of the first brothers. My decendents I first pick up in Waynsburg, Pa. 1784, a Joseph Lincicome, with several different spellings. If you should find any connection with your Lincycomb and any other spelling, I would like to know.

Late reply ... sorry. I show a Joseph Linthicum, son of Archibald, born 1784, married to Millie Thompson with a son named John D. Is this the Joseph you are looking for?

Hello Larry-
My 3rd great grandfather was Robert Ross, he married Permelia in October 1888 years after James had abandoned her & most of their children. I have recently contacted a few people who are from Permelia's line asking if anyone in her family whould happen to know where Robert was buried at the time of his death in April 1901. I do know that she is at Clear Creek cemetery & that there is 1 unmarked grave right next to her. None of my family has ever been able to find where Robert was laid to rest. If you have any info , please e-mail me at hmqueenlori2@yahoo.com
Thanks

Would you happen to have any pics of Permelia after she & James were divorced? I am kin thru her 2nd husband Robert Ross that she married in 1888. I am just searching for a connection to someone that may have info or pics of them in their later years. Thanks
